Deleting emails

I have tried for weeks to delete inbox and junk mail but the same thing happens. I manage to delete a page then the blue circle appears and have to log out and try again. I have now over 1500 emails that the majority need deleted and cant get onto any other page to check for important ones.Very frustrating,any ideas as since its changed to outlook its been nothing but problems.

For 2 months my e-mails that I am receiving with attachments show an empty box with a blue circle with a slash across it.  How do I fix this?
