THis morning i created an Archive folder, there was an error when it was created. So i tried to delete the folder, so i could try to create a new one. The folder did not delete and then has continued to recreate folders...for example the folder name was Partner, the error occurred and not i have Partner 1, Partner 11, Partner 111, and so on...it created about 20+ folders and is creating them every couple of minutes. I have been able to create other archives, with no problems. But i cannot get this folder to delete to stop generating new folders.

Error Message: Error in IMAP Command received by server

Error Code: 1025

Thanks

how do I retrieve the message that was in my sent box?
I am using Outlook.com on my iPad, iPhone, PC and Mac.

Recently I moved an email from my Mac Mail app into the Archive folder. On the PC, Mac and on the web based Outlook.com I can see the messages in the Archive folder. However I cannot see them in the Archive folders on the iPhone or iPad.

If I put and email into the Archive folder on my iPad or iPhone it show up on all devices.

Why are some Archive messages missing from my iPad and iPhone?
Hello

I have had a similar problem to one posted in thread below.

I installed Microsoft Outlook 2013 and set up auto archive to save space on my 64GB SSD.  I moved the archive folder to my external hard drive and tried to set it up to save there.  I eventually ended up with 2 archive files.  And I deleted one.  Something obviously went wrong along the way

I ended up with last 3 months email in Outlook 2013, and then the previous 3 months email in an archive file.  I had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA that doing this would have any impact on my 10000+ messages in online storage which I assumed would be safe.

Luckily until 2012 my emails were also forwarded to a alternative email provider but from 2012-May 2013 missing all emails

I accidently deleted the default Archive folder you get when you open an Outlook.com account. On the Folders menu this appears under the Inbox folder.

I know you can simply create a new Archive folder (or any folder and calll it what you want) but in doing so you can't get it to appear beneath the Inbox folder again without it becoming a subfolder of the Inbox. It instead can only appear at the bottom of your folder list.

Is there a way to make a new Archive folder appear under the Inbox folder (like it is when you start a fresh account) without it becomming a subfolder? Or, is there a way to reset all default settings and so restore the initial setup?

Thanks

I've successfully setup the new Outlook.com IMAP functionality on a number of desktop client (Mail.app, Thunderbird, Opera Mail) and in all instances, the Archive folders fails to sync.

Is this a known bug? Am I supposed to configure something under Options? Please tell me what I'm doing wrong since this severely limits the usefulness of IMAP (can't get to all my old messages).

Thanks.
Hi,
I have started to use IMAP access after the announcement this week with Outlook.com. However, I cannot see the Archive folder being synchronised. Is there some wrong? Is it possible to access Archived folder through IMAP?
Thanks!
Guillermo

I too have accidentally archived an email that I need back.  The problem is that I don't have an archive folder visible when I'm in my Inbox.  I see it only when I have an email open.  If I click on it then, it archives the email (at least I assume it does as the email disappears).  But I can't simply open the archive folder to retrieve anything.  Arrrgghh.  I hate the positioning of the archive, flag and delete icons immediately before an email subject.

How to I open the archive folder?

Hi Alden:
Accidentally I selected one of my existing folder as my Archive folder.
Please let me know how to undo this action.
My many thanks in advance.
