Outlook 2013 Calendar and GMAIL Sync Issues

13. November 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Uncategorized · Tags: account settings, Gmail Account, IMAP settings
I have tried to include a comprehensive description of my Challenge:

Goal / Objective – END STATE:

·         Running Windows 8.1 Operating System with Outlook 2013 on PC

·         EMAIL Account is via GMAIL – IMAP settings

·         Would like to sync with an iPhone 5 and an iPad Air

·         Notes synced between all 3

What I have today:

·         Running Windows 8.1 Operating System with Outlook 2013 on PC

·         EMAIL Account is via GMAIL – IMAP settings

·         iCloud is available and portions appear to be working

·         Unfortunately, I have tried probably dozens of fixes / changes to resolve issues, only to have other crop up

My current situation is this:

·         GMAIL sync with Outlook 2013 and iPhone is working fine (finally)

·         I have ended up with multiple Outlook Calendars both on my PC and iPhone / iPad

·         None of them appear to be syncing at all – anything I put in on iPhone is not discoverable by me on PC with Outlook 2013

o   Previously – I did have a single Calendar that was syncing just fine – lost the bubble trying to fix EMAIL and Notes

Settings:

EMAIL Accounts (under Outlook 2013 File / Account Settings)

·         ‘*** Email address is removed for privacy ***’                 TYPE:  IMAP/SMTP (send from this account by

This account is designated with the large black Check mark as the default

Selected account delivers new messages to the following location:

In data file:  C:\Users\’name’\...\Microsoft\Outlook\’username.gmail.com.ost

Under the Data Files Tab – I have a .pst file (Retirement 2013.pst) that contains my Outlook Folders for retention of EMAILs and data.  This .pst file is designated as the Default File as well.

My IMAP Settings for the ‘*** Email address is removed for privacy ***’ account are as follows:

CALENDARS

My Calendars (from Outlook 2013):

Calendar

Calendar (This computer only) - '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***'

Calendar from iCloud

Calendar (This computer only) - 'name of my .pst file' {that is set as the default account}

Calendar (3)

Calendar (2)

When things were working fine previously, the single calendar that appeared to be synced with iPhone and iPad was the Calendar (This computer only) – ‘*** Email address is removed for privacy ***’

Currently – most of the events but not all seem to be in the Calendar (This computer only) – 000 Retirement 2013.  This is the .pst file I have all of my folders in.  With so many of the changes I have tried – I may have somewhere switched from gmail.com to my .pst file.

Some Calendars allow me to use Categories but not reminders, others are vice versa and others allow both but that is not where 99.9% of the data is located.

The real question becomes – how can I consolidate / merge and/or whatever the 6 or 7 Calendars I have out there into a single calendar that can be synced with my iPhone and iPad?

Any and all guidance and recommendations will be greatly appreciated.  If the best approach is to delete everything and start over, please advise on how to save data before I try this.

How do I change the email account in windows live mail to an outlook account

10. November 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: account settings, Outlook account, Windows Live Mail

Hi,

I have recently created an email account with outlook.com and now want to make this account the default one in Windows Live Mail on my home computer so I don't need to go to outlook.com to check my emails.

I have been into the account settings and changed the email address from the previous one and also put in the password but it still wont connect to the account. Are there other settings I need to change as well or what am I missing (eg Server details like POP3, incoming mail POP3 and outgoing mail SMTP)?

Any help is much appreciated.

Tony.

I cannot close my Microsoft Account

The account I am trying to close is this one, the one I used to make this community profile. I went into account settings and then I clicked on "close account." It said I have to deactivate my Hotmail account first and then it will automatically close my Microsoft account after a while of inactivity. Whenever I click on "deactivate Hotmail account," I am only redirected to MSN. If I try to go back to outlook.com, it open my email normally, as if I never closed or deactivated anything. Why am I getting redirected to MSN when I click "deactivate Hotmail account?"

My hotmail account

My MSN mail account has deleted all my emails that were older than 10/22/2013.  It was not moved into an archive or into a POP account.  I set up in my account settings not to archive anything that is under 12 months.  This the second time that this has happened and I need to get these emails back.  How can this be done?

Account settings page is blank

Had reason to believe my account may have been hacked.  I was able to change my password initially, but when I went back to "Account Settings" the page came up empty thereby giving me no access to my account other than reading emails.  PLEASE HELP!!!!

Trouble removing alias

I was looking under my account settings to link my other e-mail to my main e-mail as to switch between the two easily. When In this process I discovered that there was another account that I did not create that is linked to mine. When I try to remove it I can't seem to find it, but I see it when I look in "Inbox- options-Your email Accounts" under Outlook alias. I have read the forums here but I am still unable to resolve this issue. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I can't get into my Account Settings.  I know others that have this problem and it has been going on for months.  I have reported it and I know other have too yet it still is going on.   I have been waiting patiently but I fear my patience has run out!

I am fed up with Outlook and was very happy using Hotmail, have been for years & years.  I would tell everyone I knew to use Hotamail.  Now I am seriously considering MOVING FROM Outlook.

Mirosoft will be loosing a lot of people from Hotmail!

Alias Change Killed my Email!

09. October 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: account settings

Hello all. Yesterday, I decided to change what my primary Outlook alias was. The one I had originally set my account up with was kinda dumb and I had been using another alias for signing into my email and setting up accounts. I decided it was time to make the full migration to my prefered alias, by setting it as my primary one.

I went into my account settings and changed my alias. I confirmed it and then tried using Outlook.com on my PC. I got an error, saying it couldn't connect. I figured it needed some time to set up. Well, 30 minutes later, it's still not working and I had some emails I really needed to send, so I went into my account settings and changed it back to my original alias, hoping this would fix the problem.

Well, 24 hours later, and Outlook.com still won't work, neither will the built in email client on my Lumia 1020 sync. Also ever since this incident started, the SkyDrive desktop app on my Windows 7 PC will crash as soon as it starts, and won't sync my stuff.

All my other Microsoft stuff that I use this account to sign into works perfectly fine, expect of course for the aforementioned problems, obviously. I'd like to know how what should've been a routine procedure managed to effectively kill my email, which in today's modern world is crippling.

I'd like some advice on how to fix this. I already chatted with Microsoft Support, and they directed me here. I'm desperate, desperate enough to switch back to Gmail. I may like Outlook, but who cares if it doesn't work?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Before you ask, I must stress that ONLY the following DON'T work: email (online, phone, any other application. All of my email is effectively dead), and the SkyDrive PC application for Windows 7 (online and my phone still work).

Thank you kindly, much appreciated. My whole life is being crippled by lack of email, so the quickest solution possible is essential. Thanks again. (typed 100% on my phone, so apologies for any typos or awkward errors).
