the interface/alignment has changed after the Windows updates
My laptop self-updated with the latest Win10 update. Inexplicably, I have now lost access to all my Windows Live Mail 2012 folders which included hundreds of important business and private emails.
This has caused me unbelievable problems and I am absolutely FURIOUS. In fact, given the amount of time I have wasted thus far trying to restore my files, I would like to know if I can commence legal action against MS because these completely unwarranted, unacceptable and unexpected destruction of my existing email files & folder structure.
This is what I have tried so far:
1) Undo the win10 update and restore my system: FAILED.
This Wiin10 update has wiped all my previous restore points except that for the update. I am unable to restore my computer - the error message suggests reasons such antivirus etc. I have tried disabling all programs and running restore in "safe" mode. After 45 mins of wasted time for each attempt to restore, even in safe mode I received yet another error message and the restore fails.
2) I have tried to manually re-import the folders (from %appdata% as per other help articles which are still available (but renamed for some reason) in the %appdata% folders but I end up with a load of unintelligible and disordered emails which I am unable to restore back to the previous file system I had.
WHY HAS THIS HAPPENED? WHO ALLOWS THESE UPDATES TO BE RELEASED CAUSING USERS SUCH UNACCEPTABLE AND TIME CONSUMING PROBLEMS THROUGH NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN?
It is frankly outrageous that these updates cause end users such appalling problems and I would like information as to not only restore my system to back how it was, but also to take legal action against MS for the sheer amount of wasted business time you have cost me by forcing an update which was clearly not tested with WIndows Live Mail 2012 (which as incredible as it may seem, PEOPLE STILL ACTUALLY USE).
Please reply ASAP because I have had enough - and I will not accept the amount of loss MS has caused me. It is COMPLETELY unacceptable.
Please can someone from MS help me to fix this problem and give me details as to claim compensation for the loss of income due to the huge inconvenience.

How to copy all incoming Windows Live mail to a gmail account
New computer with Windows 10 So far I hate it. Have hundreds of pictures that were in Windows Live Photo Gallery and now no place to store my photos. When transferred over to new computer they went to Drive One which is now full land Microsoft wants me to pay for storage. Is there any way to store photos in Windows 10 without the going to Drive One? Also how about uploading photos from phone and camera? I am longing from my Windows 7 Home Premium. For someone not too tech savvy Windows 10 is a royal pain. Trying to maneuver thru 10 is like being in a foreign country.
New computer was a gift so I'm not being ungrateful. Please, I need suggestions.
This is urgent.
Need help asap.
I have 2 email accounts on Thunderbird. Both have the same passwords. Suddenly they need my password for my acct. I put it in and I get the same message over and over. I know my password is correct and I've never had to do this before. How can I fix this? I've tried the remedies I've seen online.
This same thing happened with my Windows Live for that same account. Both were on my laptop. I deleted it from Windows Live and put it on Thunderbird and now it's happened there.
Now it is happening on my Windows Live on my Desktop.
Does anyone have any ideas.
As I read on one site, I did try changing the Laptop Thunderbird from Imap.mail.yahoo.com to Imap.mail.att.net and it didn't work so I put it back. Now I am going to try to do both computers that way. HELP!
Thanks
Sharon

I received updates yesterday for Office which I applied. Afterward, there was a popup when I opened Windows Live Mail 2011 that said there was an update for Windows Live Essentials. I clicked on it and the update took a couple of seconds. After the update my display of messages is messed up. At the right of each message listing the listing takes a right turn and displays a mirror image going down the page. The hard right turn starts at an earlier point in each line going down the page. It is the same for messages in the inbox and for sent items. There are also a lot of unintelligible compressed characters at the bottom of the display. Very, very strange.
Has anyone else experienced this? I'm using Windows 10, Build 1803.
Is there any way to undo the update to Windows Live Essentials?
