Hi, I have some old MSWMM files that I have found, I have followed all of the advice given on this site but when I go to play the file there is no picture or sound but WMM is showing the total time of the file and it plays

When you look at the thumbnail of the time line all of them have a red x in them which they never use to have

I have been been using Windows Live Mail for a long time on my Windows 10 PC without any problems. Recently I noticed that I am not receiving any new emails on my iCloud IMAP account.  I can see the new emails on my iPhone so I know the iCloud account is functional. I have other email accounts (both POP3 and IMAP) on my WLM setup that are all working just fine. I have tried deleting and adding the iCloud account, downloading the IMAP folders, and reinstalling WLM , but the problem remains. All my other accounts work fine with WLM, just the iCloud IMAP account wont download new emails ? Any help would be appreciated.

Dear Ladies and Dear Gentlemen

Even though I am still delighted by Windows 7, because of the end of its support period I am very soon migrating from Windows 7 to Windows 10 (and at the same, I also migrate to a new Desktop PC).

I will therefore need to download and install Windowrs Live Mail on my new Desktop PC.  I found descriptions on how to copy (i.e. via combination of Export and Import) my >47'000 emails, of my email Account definition and of my contacts in order to have and use them on my new Desktop PC.

But I did not find similar definitions about the

  - my list of Spam email-ids and Spam Email-Accounts

  - the Dictionaries used by Windows live mail for its Spell-Check

Could you please point me to a description on how to Export/Import (or on how to copy) the "Spam list" and my Dictionaries from my old PC to my new PC?  And could you please also describe mer in which Folder/File this Spam-List and Dictionaries are located.

Thank You very much in advance for your assistance

Robert Eckerlin

How to transfer the Storage folders on WLM to new 2019 pc. (Old pc backed up on WD external hdd.)

I know WLM not available on Windows 10, but need the info from those Folders. Like everyone else I hate Windows Mail &

really object to being forced into buying Office or Outlook as a standalone.

I can't find an answer to this anywhere! Is the data such as messages in the My Phone app on my pc there if my phone isn't connected to it? If the My Phone app on my phone "off" is everything from it still there in the app on my pc?

1 question 2 ways, in case I'm unclear :/

I want to back up my text messages before I change phone carriers. Usually I lose them when I do that.

I added pictures and videos to my project and added the music.  How do you turn off the music when the insert video starts?

I am unable to send an ordinary word file by email.  I follow each instruction in turn only to get an error report that the suggested method is not possible.

Hello:

We recently moved our family email domain to a new service provider and as a result I re-initialized the account in Windows Live Mail on his computer.

We have noticed some strange behaviour where emails are being sent to folders in the Storage Folders section rather than in the IMAP folders.  Examples would be emails destined for:

- sent items

- drafts

- deleted

I suspect that when we moved the domain to the new provider, the default settings for the email server with regards to these generic folders were different than the old provider, thus creating a mismatch between the new IMAP configuration and the Storage Folder configuration (folder lists).

I have searched for similar problems but could not find a solution.

We have tried to rename the folder names and change the settings for consistency with no luck.

Before I try some drastic solutions:

- moving all email from the Storage Folder to the IMAP,

- deleting the account and all emails/folders from Windows Live Mail

- re-initiate the IMAP account with Windows Live Mail

- Move the archived email back to Storage Folder.

I figured I would check to see if there is something else we could try to stop WLM from using Storage Folders automatically.
