I got a new laptop. I have been using WIN 7 with Outlook Mail app and now WIN 10 with Mail App.  My email messages remained in the viewing pane until I deleted them in Outlook.  Now in Mail they disappear from the viewing pane in a couple of days on their own .  This is very disconcerting for me as I typically leave messages, some for a really long time, in that pane.  I cannot figure how to keep these messages.  There must be some way to tell the app not to delete my messages????

After opening the video editor I tried to input a MP4 video from a file. The file contained several MP4 videos previously converted from VHS tapes. The video will play without problems using any number of "players" such as media player, etc. However, the video editor will not input the MP4 video for editing. When I open the file containing the MP4 videos, a message comes back "no items match your search". This is weird and makes no sense. I am marginally "literate" with windows, having played with it since the 1990s, but this problem has me stumped.

This is a "disambiguation" page to help community members find articles on the various connection issues with the Windows Home Server Restore CD Wizard not being able to find the home server.

If you post a new thread dealing with a Restore CD Wizard connection issue then please add a reply here and I will update this page.

Does not support static IP addressing; DHCP server (or single crossover cable) required.

Hello! I finally decided to upgrade my desktop computer to Windows 10 today.

Prior to upgrading I chatted with someone at Microsoft Sales support to confirm that while Windows Live Mail is no longer supported, that I would be able to access my email (historical), contacts and calendar in WLM as I get used to the new mail app and migrate to the newer platform. I thought it would be best to ask this in advance as much of my family's life, important events, contacts etc… exist there and I didn't want to lose anything if it should be backed up or transferred before upgrading.

Now that I have installed the Windows 10 upgrade, I do not find my Windows Live Mail or calendar….. oops... Any suggestions to help me migrate that information across or access it now would be appreciated. I did re-create my email accounts in the new mail app, so some emails are available.... I will spend some more time looking...

As I said any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

Best Regards,

Stuart

Your "Beware of scammers" comment is rather ironic.  My question is, why is it that any time I need help with this system (ALL parts of it,) and I tap on the "do you need help" bar I get turfed to Bing (aka, go look for the answers yourself), Virtana, Virtuoso,(the useless ditz), Cortana,(the talking ditz), or the community Forum,(neerdowells) who can't be trusted according to you?

Yes, I know that absolutely no one from Microsoft is going to be reading this now, but I will get the message to Microsoft somehow even if the only human being is Bill Gates drinking fine wine at his villa in the south of France.

I've upgraded from a Windows 7 Home Premium Toshiba laptop to a Lenovo PC with Windows 10.

I love Live Photo Gallery - I used it for editing product photos and it was very simple & perfect for my needs.

The installed program on Windows 10 doesn't do what I need. Is there any way to use Live Photo Gallery on Windows 10?  or suggestions for another simple photo editing program?

Thanks
