Brand new (March 20,2014) just out of the box Dell Inspiron with Intel Core i5-4200U, Integrated Intel HD graphics, Media Card Reader . . . and Movie Maker is playing audio back with no video (black screen).  I've attempted to download the K-lite codec package, but Windows 8.1 rejected it as viral.  The questions and comments found here are a few years old, and pertain to Vista or Windows 8.0 . . . so I'm hoping someone can give me a link . . .

I downloaded a different program for video, "VLC media player" . . . but looking at the Movie Maker tools, I'd like to conquer this glitch and make use of my new computer's potential . . . for someone just coming off working with Windows XP, this new platform is frustrating . . . but I'm downloading new processes at a decent pace.  I'm personally operating a 1980's Human Analog Troglodyte 4.0 brain . . . so bear with me . . .
