After upgrading to Windows 8.1 several months ago, I finally got around to using Movie Maker (from Windows Essentials 2012 package) yesterday but I found that I cannot add any audio/music onto my project at all. The "Add Music" icon at the top of the "Home" row is shaded out, thus not allowing me to click it. When I try to import the audio file through the file menu, a pop-up says "Movie Maker doesn't support the selected file type." However, the audio file is a .mp3 and I have had no problem adding this particular file before I made the upgrade to Windows 8.1 several months ago.

If 8.1 does not support Windows Essentials 2012, will there be any plans of new Essentials package for 8.1 users?
