I have a retention policy of 6 months set on the Sent Items folder. It works for most users of Outlook 2011, but for one user, his cached mailbox still has all the old messages. If he logs into OWA, he can see that the retention policy is working. Is there something corrupt in his Outlook identity that is preventing policy-deleted messages from being removed from the cache?
Since I did the upgrade on  my Mac, I can not send any messages but can receive them with no problem. I checked my settings and can send messages out thru my iphone and ipad but not my Mac using Outlook 2011 for Mac. Any suggestions?
Received Error code 19784
I have 14 email addresses. Ive already deleted list and recreated

In Outlook for Windows, if I have a message open in a window, then move it into a folder other than Inbox, the message window automatically closes.  It's kind of like "putting the message away" after reading it and deciding to file it.

I don't see an option to setup this behavior in Outlook Mac 2011.  You move the message, but the window remains open and you have to take the extra step to manually close the window.

Any ideas how to set this up or enable this behavior if it's an option?

I am running Outlook 2011 for Mac 14.3.2. It worked fine when I first installed. Then I started getting error messages. (Warning triangle in the corner) That was resolved by redoing account. Then e-mails with attachments wouldn't go through. They would leave the outbox and show up in the sent folder, but the recipients never receive. Then we ran Onyx. Some with attachments are now going through but some aren't and some even without attachments aren't. There is no rhyme or reason as to which ones go. There is no way to tell if it's gone. If it's important, I have to call the recipient to make sure it was received. About 10% aren't going through.

Also, it seems like we are getting a bunch of new spam type e-mails. May not be related.
Dear Forum Gurus/Deities

I have a paid for BT internet account (I have their broadband, I like to do things old school... if it was too fast I'd not be able to keep up)...

I can receive fine but I can't send emails from it.  What on earth am I doing wrong.. its getting to pulling my hair out time...

Your vast experience would be appreciated

Outlook takes FOREVER to launch and the other programs are just a wee bit better. How do I fix this?

I've been doing a bunch of research regarding shared calendars and exchange for the Mac and I haven't been able to find a resolution.  I've tried deleting my account and identity, but as soon as I add back in the shared calendar's I get the same permission's error.  I did some research and I didn't see a conversation about error 19955 and was wondering if someone knew about that.  We have 2 Mac's running on the exchange server and both are having this issue.  I did resolve it once and that required uninstalling Outlook, deleting my account and identity.  That didn't work this time.  The PC's seem to be fine.

My two errors that look continuously are...

error code 19999 = Permission Error. Changes to the event "Status Call with SimplyDirect" could not be saved because you do not have the appropriate permission

error code 19955 = Permission Error. Changes to the event "" could not be saved because you do not have the appropriate permission

Is there any on-line service with which I can sync my outlook calendar?  I am using the MAC version so Microsoft's own service does not work!  Ultimately I want it to sync with my ipad and iphone.  I am at the point of giving up with Outlook 2011 all together!
