I am deploying Office 2011 to over 100 Macs and want to make Outlook 2011 the default program for all email, calendaring and contacts.  I would like to set that option using a shell script since we are deploying Office via Casper.  I noticed that when I select that option in the GUI in Preferences, the com.apple.LaunchServices.plist file is updated.  So in my script, I use plistbuddy to make the changes and the plist file indicates that Outlook is the default for all of those options.  But when I go into Outlook, the checkbox for that option is still not checked.

Has anyone else done this and can you tell me if there is another file that needs to be modified?

I resolved the issue of the greyed out email button, but now I have 700 messages sitting in my Drafts folder. How do I get these to send without opening and sending each individual message?

Thank you!
Robert

I just did a merge to email and now I have 700 emails sitting in my Drafts folder! What was the rule you set up to move this to your Outbox?

Thanks for your help!
Robert

All,

It is 08/21/13 and I have tried to obtain support from Microsoft using the phone number in my Outlook for Mac 2011 ((866) 474-4882 ).  The first attempt was at 1135am EDT only to have Reden hang up on me after two minutes on the phone.  When I called back at 1138am EDT to speak with support I was connect with Cheryl.  Cheryl took my contact information, phone and email, along with my product ID.  Shen then placed me on hold for 20 minutes and never came back on the line.

This approach to support, or lack there of, is infuriating.  If anyone has cracked the code on how to get Microsoft to actually support their products please share.  All products are licensed and fully covered by support.  All we need now is Microsoft to step up and perform their role.

Thank you.

Recently Outlook for Mac will not remember Exchange email account passwords. No matter what I do it keeps asking me for the passwords.
Is there a fix for this? This only happens in outlook. Web passwords have no problems.

Office for Mac Version 14.3.6
I use outlook for ages on my PC.  The best viewing configuration for me is Reading Pane at the Right, and Item List at the left.

Now I use a Mac, and Outlook 2011 for Mac does not allow me to customize my colums in the Item List, when the Reading Pane at the right side is open.

Can I change that? I want for example the first columne to be the sender, then followed by the subject, date of arrival, etc.  - That way I can find my emails much faster.

Thank you for help,

kulturfreund from Berlin

kulturfreund
