I tried to add a new IMAP account, but the server wasn't recognized.  It's not that important that I use Outlook for this account, so I deleted it, but I continue to get the error messages "An unknown error has occurred in Outlook" and "Outlook cannot find the server.  Verify the server information is correct."  Help me to get these messages to go away, please!
Recently I have restored my MacBook Pro. However, I found Time Machine does not back up the MS Outlook pst files.
In forum, people said Time Machine backup the Outlook emails separately. But I do not know how to restore the email folders.
If anyone can help step by step, as I am quite frustrated to lost 3 years email for my work!!!

Thanks.
I purchased Outlook for MAC 2011 about 1 year ago. Recently, the program started to show an error message about the database needing to be rebuilt. When I ran the rebuilder, it ends with an error that it cannot be rebuilt. This all began 2 months ago. Now the program stopped completely and does not show my emails or folders! I'm in a panic here. The folders are a lifetime of reference materials for me, and I want to know if there is any way of recovering this data. I have the Microsoft User Data folder on my desktop that I saved, but even after creating a new identity, it would not import into Outlook.

Help!

I started noticing on my Macbook that my Broadband modem would disconnect for no reason, so I checked all the usual suspects:  USB ports, signal strength, etc.  What I discovered was, without fail, whenever I quit Outlook for mac, the connection would drop.

Looking through the logs, here is what I found:

2/12/14 7:11:30.368 PM configd[19]: SCNC: stop, triggered by (1160) Microsoft Outlo, type PPPSerial, reason User Requested
2/12/14 7:11:30.370 PM pppd[1088]: [DISCONNECT]

This comes up every time I quit, and is 100% reproducible.

So, the question is:  Why is this happening?

...or, I should say, How can I make this stop?

I'm using Mavericks (10.9), and Office for Mac 14.3.9 (I should mention this doesn't happen with other Office apps, just Outlook).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I know there have been a lot of posts about this but after 2 days of searching through all of these posts none of the solutions have worked for me. I am running Outlook 2011 version 14.3.9 on os x 10.9.1. So far I have forced re-index of the entire drive, added and removed the MUD folder from the spotlight exclusion list, unchecked then re-checked Mail and Messages from spotlight preferences, re-installed Office, rebuilt the identity, created a new identity, created a new user and imported the .olm from my current user, added a whole new account with the new user, verified permissions both through disk repair and chown/chmod, removed the com.microsoft.outlook.syncservicespreferences.plist, nothing that I have found has worked. I had my MUD folder set to users/username/library/ since I back up my documents folder to dropbox and did not want gigs of outlook stuff eating up dropbox space, but after re-install it set the MUD folder back to it's native location in documents and the search still does not work. I can search using the same exchange account using Outlook 2013 on win7 and on ios just fine. Given that the search didn't work with a newly created use, I am leaning towards it being some kind of os x problem but I am posting in both places to hopefully increase my chances of getting a working solution. I've worked with os x and PureDarwin for a while now (almost embarrassing that I can't figure this out >_<) so please don't shy away from technical answers.
I am using Outlook for Mac 2011, version 14.3.9 on an iMac running OS X 10.9.1.

I know I can insert emoticons into an email by going to Edit ---> Special Characters.
However, these are stationary emoticons.

Is there any way to insert an animated emoticon into an email?

(I am able to see animated emoticons in emails that are sent to me.)

i have Outlook for mac 2011 version 14.1.0, i linked my POP email account and everything is fine, i receive email, send email, etc...  but, when i turned off the computer, my Account disappears..    how can i fix it??

Thanks,
Hi there,

I've got Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac and have various email sub-folders to keep organised. The problem is, when I want to go over the emails I have dropped into the sub-folder, each one takes 5-10 seconds to download and view!

Is there any way that one can download all of the emails at once? Currently each email starts downloading only when I select it

Thanks so much!

Hello, I work in IT for my company, and have a brand new MacBook Air, running OS X Mavericks, and Office for Mac 2011, that I am testing for deployment to a user.  It's our only Mac in our enterprise environment, a one off.

The problem I'm having is when opening Outlook 2011.  I can successfully setup and add an exchange account in Outlook 2011 connected to our Exchange 2010 server.  After that, each and every single time I open Outlook 2011, it will open, show my inbox/standard screen, and literally sit there for 3 mins.  I can't do anything, click on menu items, scroll, new email, nothing.  It will just hang.  After 3 mins or so, the program seems to work fine.  I've searched the internet, restored the MacBook Air, reinstalled Office 2011, I've even tried different user accounts and setup their exchange accounts in Outlook, with little to no mail, thinking that may be the problem.  But it will hang no matter what.  I'm also waiting on a contact back from the local Apple Store's Business Department, though I doubt they will know...

Please help!

Thanks,

Mike K

MAC Data Recovery is capable to scan and get your data back from virtually all storage drives, such as most external storage media like digital cameras, USB drives, Kindles, iPods and SD cards and internal hard drives. In addition, it is capable to even scan your drive when it is inaccessible, failed or when partition is lost. With having a lot of powerful algorithms for scanning, MAC Data Recovery recovers data completely for your Mac OS X.Your hard disk partition might be lost if you suddenly lose the ability to retrieve and mount files. In several cases, data is kept at the same place, but the ‘path’ required by the PC to locate the data is corrupt. Mac Data Recovery has certain features that can help you repair and recover missing partitions and get your data back.
