Hello,

My Hotmail account has been hacked twice in less than a week. Please help.

A few days ago, when my account was first hacked, I tried to reinitialise my password online (account.live.com/password/reset). But because all of my personal security information had been modified or deleted by the hacker, all of my many requests failed. I kept receiving the same email from the Microsoft Support Team in Redmond:

“Unfortunately, we were unable to verify your ownership using the information that was provided”.

I then tried getting in touch with the UK Support Team (I live in London) to try and speak to someone since the online method wasn’t getting me anywhere. Let’s remain polite and say that they couldn’t much but to re-direct me to the same useless link: account.live.com/password/reset. The person actually mentioned that, as a last resort, they could charge me for trying to retrieve the date, which I found utterly insulting and infuriating. I had done nothing wrong. If anything, Microsoft was the one that failed to keep my data secured and protected, as it is contractually obliged.

I then called the French Support Team (I set up my account whilst in France more than 10 years ago). After the same bureaucratic chat and the same referral to the same useless link in my situation, they did eventually figured out a way to solve the situation. They just sent me a link to which I could reset my password because I had proven my identity and provided all the accurate information over the phone.

This was this morning at around 9am. I was absolutely delighted that a stranger wasn’t in control of 10 years of personal emails, photos, and videos.

Unfortunately, towards midday, I received another email asking me whether I wanted to confirm the new change of email, which I found weird, given that I’d already received a similar email, minutes after I reset it at 9.

The hacker managed to change my password again because his secury information hadn’t been removed by the Support team.

Which I realised later when I tried to log in again on account.live.com/password/reset only to see that the alternative email option wasn’t my email but someone else’s (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) and my phone number didn’t match the *****80.

So now, because they have multiple unsuccessful recovery attempts for the past few days, I’m actually recommended by the Support Team in Redmond to… create a new account.

I find this extraordinary. I’m no longer in possession of what is mine and the corporation who should be able to solve the issue is letting the hacker win. Absolutely devastating. Please help.

How do i replace my old alternative security email address in Outlook?

Recently when I open Outlook I get sent to a page saying "Help us protect your account" which asks if it can send me a security code to my alternative security email.  However the alternative email I have stored is no longer in use. 

 

So then I click the "I don't have these anymore" option, and I am then asked for my telephone number for the code to be sent to.  

I don't want to give out my phone number, so I want to change the redundant alternative email address for a current gmail one that I have.

 

But... there doesn't seem to be any way of doing this.  I've seen older posts on this subject that talk about there being "manage security" options where you can remove and add alternative emails, but when I go to account setting/edit security settings, I'm sent back to the "help us protect your account".

 

any help on this would be great.

Microsoft Word App only displays the first page of multipage documents on Skydrive!

When I post PDF documents to my Skydrive, Microsoft Word App opens the document, and the quality of the document displayed is poor, and more importantly, it only displays the first page of a multipage document! This is not at all apparent to either the uploader or the downloader.

The above link is to a folder entitled "Jim Cronin's Licenses." I hold multiple professional licenses, which I wish my clients and potential clients to be able to view to confirm my qualifications. I have been uploading a PDF document which contains all 5 of my licenses. When I click on the folder and open the document in Microsoft Word App (my only option), it only displays the first page/first license.

 

All this time I'm assuming that my clients/potential clients can see the full five pages of licenses etc. All this time, my clients/potential clients are assuming that I only have a single license.

 

This is a major problem.

E mail sending problems

When I have a  web page that I wish to e-mail and I go to FILE on the Address Bar and open  Send

Neither the PAGE BY MAIL or LINK BY MAIL can be accessed and I have found no other method of seng the items.  Any help would be greatly appreciated

HELP.  My account has been inactive for about 6 months but i NEED access to my 30000+ emails.

Also to test my son has sent 4 emails to my hotmail  today but none are showing

Hello.

 

I made a hotmail a very long time ago (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) and when I try to log in to this email it tells me that it doesn't exist. You would think maybe I'm typing in the wrong email, but I am not. I know this is the email because I use it for a pc game that tells me thats the email I registered with. Now I can't use the hotmail account or play the game because it sent me a verification email to verify the account due to inactivity for a long period of time.

Cannot add email address as an alias

I erroneously set up a second Live account with another email address.  Once I figured out I could simply add that email as an alias to my original Live account, I deleted the second account.  The system is not letting add the second account email as an alias to the original account.  It keeps saying that the alias email address is already taken, but it's not.  It's my non-Microsoft email account.  I deleted the Live account that was using it so it should be available to me.  Both email address are non-Microsoft accounts.  Is there some kind of a waiting period to re-use my own email addresses? Why?  I'm part of a team that uses calendar sharing via Live.  If I cant get this working soon, it will be a significant impediment to my productivity.
