Hi,

i have connected my facebook to outlook . but i cannot see any of my online friends . it says "no contacts are online" .

and when i click on any of my facebook friends in it, it says "to send a message, turn on facebook chat" when i click on it, nothing happens . . also in people.com it shows available on -> facebook chat is turned off . . and i cant turn it on also . pls help me solve the problem . . even my windows 8 app like messenger and peple are showing "no contacts online"

Very much hoping someone can help. And please bear in mind that I am not at all technical.

I use hotmail on my macbook pro through outlook care of microsoft office for mac 2011.

I was having problems with search functionality in outlook and, following advice on a forum I found, I deleted com.microsoft.outlook files from preferences in library.

I restarted my machine. Outlook was totally empty. I closed it down again and saw that outlook was in my trash. I dragged it back in to applications.

Then restarted and everything was gone.

I have a very important court case coming up and all my evidence is on email.

I am absolutely distraught about what has happened and desperately hope that there is some way of retrieving the information.

To make matters worse, my external hard drive (with time machine on it) has packed up. I'm sending it to Seagate to try and recover data but there's no guarantee that they will be able to get anything.

Can’t access Yahoo! Mail Plus

I have seen a couple of previous threads on this, but I am getting the same problem now. I had to change my Yahoo! Mail password (and I am a Yahoo! Mail Plus subscriber). When I went to update the password in Outlook.com's more mail options, the e-mail would no longer come over to my outlook.com Inbox. I have tried deleting the account and adding it again, to no avail. I have also tried to move all messages out of my inbox and then adding the account as suggested by one other poster. Please let me know if there are any resolutions for this issue or if you are experiencing the same thing.

Lost pages from inbox folder

I am currently having a problem where I cannot access any subsequent page after page 1 in the inbox folder of my outlook account. Last week I had 4 pages worth of emails in my inbox folder, whereas now (without deleting any emails) I only have one page worth of emails in my inbox folder. Furthermore, every time I receive a new email, the oldest email on page 1 is lost (presumably to page 2, which no longer exists). I then tried deleting emails from page one of the inbox, and no emails from page 2 ascended to fill the empty space. No other folder in my outlook account was affected. The only other information I have is that I changed from using safari to firefox last week, but I'm not sure if that is coincidence or whether it is actually related to my current problem.

SUMMARY
I only have page 1 of my inbox, page 2,3 etc does not exist. Every time I receive a new email, the oldest email in page 1 is lost (if page 1 is full)

How do I fix this problem?

Moving email from other email providers to outlook.com

I am trying to move all my emails from google apps (organisational) email to my (personal) outlook.com email. I have followed the instructions as in http://windows.microsoft.com/en-MY/windows/outlook/other-email-accounts.

Yet, I can't seem to 'add a send-and-receive' account' in my outlook.com. I keep getting a 'There's a problem connecting to the POP3 mail server.’

Please let me know how I can do this successfully.

p/s: I am also trying to transfer my emails from office365 to outlook.com

I can no longer open my hotmail. I can see it then it immediately vanishes.

any tips on how to get it to work?. I have already tried deleting history, cache etc to no avail.

Contrast loss when converting mts file using Movie Maker

I am trying to convert some mts files captured with a Panasonic Lumix G5 camera using Movie Maker on Windows 8. Everything works great, except that the output video shows some visible contrast (and perhaps saturation) loss (not terrible, but noticeable).

I tried both mp4 and wmv as outputs (and several output profiles) I see the same problem.

When I play the original mts files directly using the Windows Media Player, contrast is fine.

Any idea how to fix or control this?

hi all please can you help?

I have recently being ask by Microsoft to verify my account through Xbox (so they have another email address to contact me on if anything go wrong). which I did and it worked ok.

I when I put in the link into IE and sign in it signs in ok with the correct email address (correct spelling) but when it comes to the code they send me the email address is wrong (missing a letter) is their any way I can change the address so it is the correct spelling and I can verify the new email address .

p.s. I have to see if the is an option for change the address but can not find anything.
