All of my stuff is lost... not one contact, not one email, not one folder.. all GONE! when I sign in using my existing account information that I have been using since 1998, it looks like a brand new account w/ a welcome email... HELP!!!
I have clicked:
- close account,
- password where requested
- deactivate account
- at this point a message comes up as above. (option not available for this account)
I have known people who have found this process simple and effective, why can i not proceed?
I`ve never had any paid services
I am also blocked from changing the primary email address: it states the new address is unavailable even if i enter completely random strings of characters that no-one else could have

I would like help on how to access my first account as I have tried everything that the web page suggests and what is going on with my second account not existing? I tried calling microsoft, although they said they cannot help and told me to look online for a solution.
I recently had some issues with my old Hotmail account where Microsoft was constantly saying that it detected an incorrect password so I had to use the captha image. This happened two or three times day. Figuring that it was time to change to and @outlook.com address I deleted all my devices that were connecting to my Hotmail account (and yes, they all used the correct password), and I set forwarding to a new @outlook.com account. I then proceeded to connect my iPhone, iPad, office computer (through Outlook), and home computer (also through Outlook) to my new @outlook.com account. I also have a security system which emails which is also connected to my @outlook.com account. Everything seemed to be working fairly well after verifying my account as requested. I did as asked. Then the next day, I received the same email, and so on. This is getting really annoying to the point where Google email is starting to look pretty good.
I have just logged into my Hotmail account and appear to have received a message from the account which I did not send (although I may have been logged into the account when it was sent, I cannot be certain).
It does not appear in the Sent box.
Furthermore it has the message: Be careful! This sender has failed our fraud detection checks.
It has an attachment which I have not clicked on. It is very small but peering at it I do not recognise it.
The email does not appear to have been sent to others in my Contacts list. Has my email been hacked or is this a clever phishing email?
Any advice welcome
