Hi Guys,

My account *** Email address is removed for privacy *** was  'hacked' so i reset my hotmail pass word using the Phone Verification process. On doing so i am then sent a code to my phone which i put in and successfully change the password.

I then go to log into my email account as normal and it says "Someone may be using your email account" then prompts me to verify my identity again using ONLY an additional email address this time round. Problem is that this email is over 8 years old ( an old lycos.co.uk email, which they have wiped off the net) so i have no access to.

I then tried to fill out the form to prove my identity and was subsequently told that i did not do this successfully.

So i repeated the phone verification process ( But the same issue happens again)

This is my companies main email account and has all of  our customers correspondence ,so you could understand the frustration in being unable to access any orders/messages from them. I have been liaising with @MicrosoftHelps on twitter through my official company page in order to further prove my identity, i must say the guys have been a great help in assisting with this problem.

await your response.

J.Benjamin

Ever since hotmail became Outlook.com my contacts/people are all messed up. What happened?

I went into "people" deleted all my contacts to start over. I even waited 35 days before re-entering them all back in manually. Thought that would be good enough. NO, not that easy (of course not--- this is Microsoft). So now when I select the big blue "Outlook" button and open a "new" email then press "To" the address book pops up and all my old contacts are still there, as well as all the new ones that I just re-entered. The address book is now twice the size as before. When I press the big orange "people" button to edit/manage my contacts all I see are the newly re-entered contacts. What's up with that?

By the way changing the name from contacts to people is kind of stupid.

All my people are contacts but NOT all my contacts are people. DUH!

Yes I tried deleting the cache, resetting IE8, upgrading IE8, all the usual suspects.

I have been trying to get in to my account for nearly five days and have filled out the same form a thousand times, received no actual response as to what's going on and am generally pretty disappointed with Outlook 'help'.

It started when I entered my password, as usual, and for some reason, a message came up saying that it was incorrect.  I tried various times and the same message.  So, I tried resetting it.  But the phone number I provided for the security code is no longer valid and when I tried to answer my security question, a message came up saying that I had entered in the wrong answer too many times, when I hadn't even tried.  So I filled out this form, then some time later received a reply saying that I hadn't entered sufficient information, when I filled out every box, with the correct answers.

I have filled out this form countless times since, and still, the same response.

I then spoke to a member or Microsoft online, told them everything, then after a lengthy discussion about my problem, got a link directing to me to a form I had already filled out.  This is apparently called the 'escalation form'.

I also got an email (on an account I created so I could talk with Microsoft) just directing me to a page with no information on it....

I am so annoyed as this is causing me a lot of problems and I am hitting a brick wall.

Please help!

Thanks.
