I lost some data while skydrive was syncing between 2 different computers. Here's the scenario:
On my main desktop it is set to sync all files between pc and skydrive, on my laptop I only selected the current folder I was working in.
Problem seems to be, the laptop settings seemed to overide the PC and skydrive started syncing with the laptop by removing all the other folders.
I have checked the recycle bin in web based skydrive and the folders that are effected are there, but all empty. Is there any way to recover this very important data?

What I don't understand is, why did the laptops sync preferences effect the PC's sync status?
Hello,
I'm trying out SkyDrive to see if it will work for my needed intent, which is to be able to download files from a PC to a portable device.

I have an iPad 2 which I'm using to access my SkyDrive account through the web interface. I have enabled file sharing on my PC, and I'm browsing my PC files successfully from the iPad. I can even see network shares on the PC, and that's great.

However, I can't "Download" any file from my PC- I can only open those files that are explicitly in the cloud on the SkyDrive shares [I can't always download those either- but one problem at a time here.] . When I check the file and click Download, it thinks about it for a second then nothing happens.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Since 8/15/13 my outlook.com account is not receiving emails--it doesn't generate a "bounce" message to the sender, either. I tested this after I spotted the problem only yesterday. I tried to share a dropbox folder and dropbox was unable to verify my email account--repeatedly. I thought it might be a problem with dropbox, but later I tried to recover a password from an old gmail account and that got the same result. I've duplicated the problem with several browsers, including mobile browsers and specific apps. Exactly the same result every time. I see several similar threads here--an honest description of the problem, which appears to be on the Microsoft end of the process, would be very helpful. I've checked everything I can from here, and I've purged and reinstalled the outlook.com app on my phone and tablet. I've changed my password in the process. I've sent test emails from another outlook.com account as well--same result. Nothing shows up in the target inbox, no bounce message. The only indication of a problem is that the email doesn't arrive. If I didn't have multiple email accounts I'd have had to wait until some sender got ticked off enough to call me or something. Not good. Better communication would be nifty--but that isn't something Microsoft is known for. Maybe a twitter account similar to the microsofthelps account that just posted outages or known issues. That would at least help those of us with Twitter accounts. So where are we on this? I really need that account to work, obviously, but I understand stuff happens and there is a large user base involved. A solution would be best, but information will do in the mean time. I have Windows Defenders listed as an item on my desk top but when I check, I am advised it has been turned off.   This has happened both on my home computer and the laptop.   When I try to have it turned on, it starts but a reply comes back:   ERROR:    Code  0x800705b4
