verifying alias

I'm trying to set up an alias but whenever I go into the email address to verify it is my account Outlook gives me the following message: There is a temporary problem with this service please try later. Problem is it is later, I've been trying for 4 days and each time receive the same message. Please can you tell me what the issue with outlook is.

I have an old account that I never used much so I closed it. Today all the people in in my address book got mail from that address and I had nothing to do with it. Anything I can do?

Offline and Not receiving Junk or Inbox Messages

I believe I am Offline and Messenger keeps trying to sign in but it cant. I can send emails but I am not receiving any back. Junk or Inbox. Even tried sending myself and email and still have not received it. HELP! I do not see an Online/Offline Button. This used to be my Hotmail Account before it switched to Outlook Mail.

After changing primary alias other email accounts not syncing in Outlook.com

I switched my primary alias from @gmail.com to my @outlook.com, this asked if I wanted to add the gmail account and I said yes. But then this gmail account along with my other two POP3 accounts stopped receiving emails. In the outer setting page it says they are "Send and receive" but when trying to edit them it appears to be send-only (only SMTP settings available, doesn't show POP3). I since removed and re-added one of those accounts as send-and-receive and it seems fine now in both syncing emails and in the settings page.


1) Maybe I did something wrong?

2) Anyone else have this issue?

3) Any known fixes other than to remove and add the accounts?


So mainly I wanted to report this bug. But also it would be nice if an email account that was already added could be switched between send-only and send-receive without having to remove and add again.

Lost all of my emails through no fault of my own

Hi, I've had my email account for over a decade, unfortunately I haven't been able to access it for a while as I lost my password & the link directed to my gmail account was broken.  It's been a nightmare trying to sort it out.  Now, that I finally get access to my account, everything has disappeared.  I know after reading posts that this has been a huge problem for people but I'm wondering if there really is anything you can do to help.  I've got some really important documents within various folders, receipts etc & I really need to get hold of them.

Friend’s Message To Me Bounces Back

I'm in the US and I have been corresponding with a friend in Spain for about a year.  He has a hotmail account and mine is an MSN account.  On Friday, August 30 he attempted to send me a text only email and it bounced back with this message:

Wen I change my password on my skydrive and wen I login my picture all disappear

I only see the newest email in each folder in Windows Live Mail 12

I only can see the latest email  in Inbox, Sent, Drafts, etc.  ...... not a list.  If I delete it, the next email appears, so they are stored in the folder.  I also can't email  anything to myself at that addy... it says there is no such address.   I tried to reinstall and to repair.  I am using a Live Mail 12 on a windows 8 OS.  My other computer's Live Mail 12 is working perfectly(8), so I am guessing I inadvertantly changed something I shouldn't have in the program.

I'm getting the "We're updating your inbox. Please wait a few minutes and then try again." error for my new outlook.com account that I set up, added a new alias, and changed the primary alias.


I've logged this as a support ticket, but it's now been 11 days since I did that, and it's still not been solved.

How do I sign into a different email account without logging out of the other one I’m also using?

I am trying to be logged into 2 of my email accounts at the same time.  But when I try to sign into the 2nd one via 'Hotmail sign in' it just logs me into the same account that I am already logged into.  I do not want to log out of the account I am already logged into given previous problems with logging into it and I have urgent business I need to attend to that is already delayed.  I know it is possible to have 2 email accounts accessible and logged into on the screen at once as have seen it before, but unable to find how to do it now??????
