Unable to add and outlook.com to Windows Live Mail 2012. I was getting delta sync issues before. Ran through the troubleshooting steps of adding and removing account. Reinstalling Windows Live 2012. I have gotten to the point where I have rebuilt the Windows 7 from scratch and just installed Windows Live Mail and still unable to do a send/receive to look at outlook.com emails. I was able to receive email via the account a month ago. I am able to sign into the web interface of outlook.com. Any suggestions?
I have looked through many posts and see that others have had this problem, I can receive but not send email.  I have tried many of the suggestions from this site and others but no luck.  Here is the full text of the error message:

An unknown error has occurred.

Subject 'test'
Server Error: 421
Server Response: 421
Server: 'smtp.comcast.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC67

Depending on the suggestion I was trying, the last line sometimes changed to Secure(SSL): No
Does this make sense to anyone out there?

Thank you.
I have to click on the message and open it to find out who it's from. This just started today. Any thoughts on how I caen expand it to see the sender's name?
Program was working all right until I tried sending several photos, without using "Slide show" - didn't send, and now keep getting message that program is 'working offline', when I try to go online, will not do it.
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE20003.

My windows live mail keeps showing updating calendar and it is not sending nor receiving emails.

Following situation!!

I have an email address on my own domain!

*** Email address is removed for privacy ***

Following ERROR MESSAGE I revieve:

The message could not be sent. The setting for your outgoing email [SMTP] server might need to be configured. To find the server settings for '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***', please contact your email service provider.

------------------------------

I use Windows live mail 2012
It worked all the time until the service provider changed some things on the mail server.

They want now that the outgoing SMTP Port is using 587 TLS
But Windows Live Mail 2012 doesn't allow to use TLS - only SSL is available!!

I tried all what may be possible, but nothing works!

Now I tried to configure OUTLOOK 2010 ....

and here it works to send emails!!

This are the configurations in OUTLOOK 2010:

Incoming (IMAP) - 993 - SSL

und
Outgoing (SMTP) - 587 - TLS

THIS IS WORKING IN OUTLOOK!!

HOW CAN I FORCE WINDOWS LIVE MAIL TO USE TLS???

If I change to OUTLOOK, then I have to download again all EMAILS!!!

Original Title: Windows live mail 2012 refuses to send smtp port 587
I don't normally sign into my live account because I still receive my email regardless and I just leave it open, but the other day I just stopped getting any. I exited out to see if it would be better when I went back into it, but now it won't open at all. I have gotten no error messages or any other indication that something is actually wrong besides the fact that it just stopped working. How can I get back into my email and get it to start working again?

Dear team,

My Windows 7(64bit) Live Mail will not Go Online after many, many
attempts; it calls up an Error message that will not go away.

1. I am able to go online with Firefox and gmail, but Live mail locks
me out when I try there.
2. I have successfully reset the password
3. I have rebooted Live Mail many times
4. I have rebooted the computer ... mail still stays Offline

Nothing works, and I don't know how to re-instal Live Mail.

Help.

JHM

I've set up my main msn email through Windows Live. I have 3 linked accounts to it, all at hotmail.

When I tried putting them through Windows Live, I remembered only my main acct.'s password, so I had to recover my 2nd linked account's password.

My 3rd one, however, doesn't work that way. I don't have the password to that one either, and every time I have to fill out a form, the first time it told me I didn't have enough information (even though it all derives from my main account!), and today it says that there is a problem with the server.

See, through Outlook I can just easily go from one linked account to another, without having to put the password in. So, of course, after a while I forget 2 of them.

Why can't I just have my main account link to the others through Windows Live? It seems very difficult to recover a linked acct's password as it automatically asks me question that I can't answer as all of them belong to my main account. I had set them up years ago.

Sorry if this is confusing, but I worked all afternoon on getting my outlook linked account to Windows Live to add to the others.
I've always retrieved new mail by providing my Live Mail password first. Somehow, this feature has been deactivated, and when I click on the live mail (Read mail) icon, the program activates, then authorizes, and loads new mail automatically WITHOUT requiring my password.  I don't know if I accidentally shut this feature off, but I would like to reactivate it.  I'm using Live Mail 2011, along with Internet Explorer 10 (fully updated). Thank you!
