windows live mail won’t start

HI. Pulling my hair out here.
Windows Live Mail (v11) suddenly refused to open, after working fine for over a year. It just sits at the opening screen with the circle and says starting. In task manager, wlmail.exe is open under processes, but not under applications. Have tried the following:

• set mail to offline in IE
• went to control panel and fixed Live Essentials and rebooted.
• removed all messages from the mail folder
• updated all Windows updates
• installed Live Mail 2012
• fixed Live Essentials again
• MS checked authencity etc - all ok
• ran fixkey.reg as per one of your support pages
• fixed live essential again
• Switched off the router and tried offline.... the same
Still would not open from my workplace, but it did open when I was home (no internet/network at home).
• then copied mail back and it would not open again
• fixed live essentials again
STILL WILL NOT OPEN

WHAT MORE CAN I DO ..... PLEEEEEEEEZE???

How to disable receipt in Windows Live Mail

At one point I figured out how to enable read receipt.  Now it is automatic and I want to turn it off or preferably when I specifically ask .  Now I can't figure out how to shut it off.  The menu icon does not show up on my toolbar below new message icon and therefore can't find options

Suddenly when I open Live mail the little world down in the bottom right corner has a red cross.  No matter what I do it will not connect to the web.

My phone repeatedly marks my read emails unread

My htc phone repeatedly will mark my read emails un read I have marked them now on three intervals all read and the hotmail system changes them. Please advise how this can be corrected. The other email address with aol, yahoo & google do not do this.

I changed over to outlook and noticed that various emails show up in window then quickly disappear, where do they go so I can retrieve them.  I've checked all folders including junk folder, email rules, etc.  I don't know where else to look, they have to be somewhere, anyone know where...

I ungraded to Windows 8.1. 

10 hours later I am unable to send and receive messages using Windows Live Mail 2012.  Error:

 

Unable to send or receive messages for the NAME account. The host 'mail.NAME.com' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly.

Port: 110

my partners hotmail account was linked to mine,now he can no longer access his account. It seems he has lost his password and cant remember the questions he was asked when setting it up.He is 74

Hello,

 

I am running windows 8 OS and windows live mail ver. 2012 build 16.4.3508.0205 and suddenly the message header contents of the folders are not displayed when I click on them! E.G. when  click on the inbox it shows the current message but none of the others even though the inbox label shows some number of unread ones in parenthesis! Prior to today all the message headers, read and unread, were all shown ordered by time and grouped by conversation.

Hi,

I was testing the "read receipt" option under Windows Live Mail to see what it would do.  I sent an e-mail to my sister with "read receipt" checked.  However when she opened it, I did not get any notification that my e-mail had been read.  Why is it not working?
