when I try to log in it takes me everywhere but to my account. how do I find my email account now?

Hello,

It seems that, when I use Windows Live Mail to use an Outlook account, I'm unable to send an email as one of the aliases for this account. This forces me to use the web interface or to add the alias as a separate account, adding a lot of burden to the software and its local storage, if I want to send an email from one of my aliases.

I remember that Windows Live Mail used to support sending emails from the different email adresses you could send from on a Hotmail account. It was a different feature that allowed you to link separate Hotmail accounts and to check a POP account from your hotmail account. I think Windows Live Mail should allow to send mail from the account aliases like the web interface does.

Thank you.

When sending messages using WLM sometimes the email addresses get scrambled.

As an example I've just sent an email which appears in my sent box as:

To: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

cc: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***; *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

bcc: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

Where I'm example4 to provide me a copy of the email.

When this appears in my inbox it appears as:

To: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

cc: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***; examp ; *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

It also appears in example2's inbox the same. It seems to be chopping off some of the cc addresses and sending the bcc as cc (which defeats the object of bcc if everyone can see it). This has happening on and off over for a while now but I can't narrow down what causes it to happen some times and not others.

It also doesn't always happen exactly like that, sometimes the from and to address are scrambled as well. I did check one that the to address was scrambled on a while ago, and they did receive it but it showed scrambled in the same way on their client.

Has anyone come across something similar, or can suggest a probable cause and fix?

(Using XP by the way, if it helps)

I have Windows 8.1.  some of the issues I've faced : up to 3 minutes to open an email; to click to Reply it responds with "not responding"; takes forever to close; today I received an alert that the calendar isn't working correctly, and  on and on.  I have been reading the Community for months  hoping for some solution. I finally saw what I hoped was an answer: in  Dec tech said to go to the Programs :page, select Windows Live Essentials double click and choose repair.  I did that and it downloaded a repair which seemed instantly to improve the software.  It also directed that I notify the account mgr. to ensure the repair was locked in.  I wasn't sure what that meant so I contacted the Microsoft Windows Acct which asked me to reset my passwords This was a mistake since it caused me no end of trouble getting back into my accounts.  Note: a GEEK Squad rep told me to download Live Mail to an ext. drive; then uninstall Live Mail 2011 and then reinstall it.  Why of why isn't there an update for Live Mail 2011 when sooooo many people have terrible experiences with the current software. This isn't right, so Microsoft should fix it

The Repair did NOT last.  I've tried that many times since and it never locks in..

hello,
actually my mail was working fine on old pc. Now, i got the new desktop and i configured my same account on that pc. i imported all my emails and contacts from old pc. now, the problem is when i try to start windows mail on new pc it keeps asking me to enter username and password, i am not able to receive new emails. is it because my same account is still ON in old pc. i am very confused, would it solve my problem if i remove my account from old pc. i don't want to lose my emails. what should i do? i have configured my pop3 server correctly as it was on old pc.

Starting two days ago, Windows Live Mail will not download my gmail.  From Sync, "Check for new messages" is completed, but "Download new messages" is executing and is hung up on "Downloading message 0".  The error ID is 0x800C006F
How can I install Windows Live Mail (which I had on my old laptop with Win Vista 32 bit) and transfer my Contacts to my new ASUS laptop with Win 8 (upgraded to 8.1) .  I also have a lot of folders of emails I saved on my old laptop.  Can I transfer them?
My email is thru my cable service, COX.
Thanks
