I have purchased 3 email addresses from GoDaddy and have successfully created them on my iPhone and iPad using the Godaddy server settings and ports and with their presence on the phone. From each of these devices I can send/receive emails without issues.
With the help of the GoDaddy technician I have created these same 3 IMAP email addresses on my Windows 7 laptop and after creating the properties, Windows Live Mail takes me to a box that says folders need to be downloaded in order to send/receive mail. I click on the "download" button and this sends my computer into an endless loop which never completes. I cannot "X" out of or cancel this function and must do a shutdown/restart to end this problem. I called GoDaddy and they suggest that this is a Windows Client issue because the email addresses work on the smartphone and tablet computers.
Can someone please help me find a solution to this problem and end my frustration?

I have: [Dell Inspiron 560 desktop; MS Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit; Windows Live Mail 2012; MS Word Pro 2003; Mozilla Firefox 22.0; Adobe FP 11,8,800,94; Adobe Reader 11.......]
1. I’m in “Drafts”, want to duplicate one file. Instead of coming out next to the original AS the original, it shows 2 (not one) empty lines as sub-folders, each with an envelope at its left. I delete one of these empty lines, I don’t need 3....it deletes BOTH!!! I want it to show the name just as the original as if they were 2 identical files, how to fix this?
I tried both actions several times and it does the same.
I had suffered the multiple glitches with WLMail2011 and now this, with the upgrade....All MS does is get you on a merry-go-round no matter what you do... :o(
On or about Mar 25/26 my Windows Live Mail stopped sending messages.
I have 2 Hotmail and 1 Gmail account.
The Gmail account worked fine, no problems.
I set it up -- by default (HTTP using default settings), and with 2 versions of the server (smtp Live.com & smtp outlook.com0.
I used 25, 465, and 587 ports.
Nothing worked.
After getting with AT&T support I was able to get one of the Hotmail accounts to send if I used their server. smtp.att.yahoo.com
I have been reading a lot of problems/solutions here, so I tried a lot of things.
I tried to 'restore' but the restore date was after the problem date (I may have cleared System Restore without realizing email wasn't working after an update)
I am not sure of the time of the update to WLM, if there was one.
I had just (2 months ago) installed (clean) Win 7 pro after using XP Pro for many years. (Sad to see it go)
Re-installing,re-booting, removing accounts, etc. Nothing fixed it.
I removed 2012 and put in 2011, no fix, after trying all the other fix methods, and port/server settings.
So, I removed 2011 and put in WE WLM 2010.
I like the interface and now I can send email.
But, now I cannot delete messages by clicking the delete button or delete key on keyboard.
I can drag them to the deleted folder.
And my Hotmail deleted folder(s) has messages in it from Mar 29.
If I click on the "X" on the Junk Mail or Deleted folder (left side) I get an error, then another that some items could not be removed, but they are gone from the Junk mail folder. Nothing happens in the Deleted folder.
After I try that, the "X" is no longer there when I "Mouse Over" the junk or deleted folder.

I have been a Hotmail user a very long time, before MS acquired it, could my permissions have changed?
I have read here that others have sent a PM with their email address(s) and the permissions were fixed.
Thanks

Thinking of Upgrading my PC from Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit. I downloaded the software of Windows Essentials 2011 & created a account, but recently had to uninstall it to update a driver. I read an advisor from Microsoft Security Bulletin that Windows Live Essentials 2011 is no longer available to download for Windows Vista, because of vulnerability in the Windows Live Essentials 2011 software. My question is did the Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade address attention for a solution?
