Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800488EB

Hi:

I am using the Windows Live Mail application. The OS is Windows 7 Home Premium with all the latest patches applied. I am also running Norton 360 with daily updates.

I discovered yesterday that when I tried to compose a new mail message, I got a dialog box indicating that a problem has occurred. Please try again. Then a second dialog box appears indicating that Windows Live Mail has stopped working, close program. It appears that I can still receive new messages.

In addition to being unable to compose new messages, I am unable to either reply or f/w any of my emails. I have changed none of Mail configuration settings.

Would be really handy if future versions of these email applications would have a repair option available. Receiving and sending emails is a daily occurrence. Would appreciate  any help that is offered.

My msn.com email is finally roilling in after 6 days of having Synchronization error 0x800488EB, which we have been discussing on this forum at length.  However, a new wrinkle has appeared.  I cannot delete any unwanted emails from this account.  Is that problem related to the error message or is this something new?  Please advise.

Unable to send or receive messages for the Msn () account.

I HAD DIFFERENT ERROR CODE FOR 3 DAYS...NOW THIS ONE???

I recently changed my PC from XP to Windows 8.1 (64 bit). I have a Canon MP600 printer/scanner. When using the scanner, there is an option to attach a scan direct to an email. With the old XP machine I used Outlook Express. This appeared in the Canon dialogue box as the default email programme.

With the Windows 8.1 machine, I have opted to use Windows Live Mail for my EE email account.

Now the Canon dialogue box will only recognise Windows Mail, although I have set Windows Live Mail as my default on the PC. So currently I have to save a scan to my hard drive and then attach to Windows live Mail as a separate exercise.

I've looked at various Canon forums but so far have not found a solution.

Grateful for any suggestions. I'm not a PC expert but can enter and change the Registry entries if that is what's needed.

Along with a lot of other people I have a problem in that when I set up my live mail account my dob got registered as the date I set up the account, not my actual dob. This means that I am unable to download any aps to my new phone, thus rendering it practically useless.  I have gone into my live mail account settings to change my date of birth, but when I click 'save' nothing happens.... at all - the date doesn't change, there is no little spinny thing... nothing.  At the moment my phone is all but useless and I would like a resolution to this problem asap.  Have looked on several forums, but can't find anyone with this specific problem. Thanks.

I haven't been able to use my email for several days, always get the same error message

Help!

Jeannine

I have just recently migrated from Windows/XP to Windows 8.1.  I was using Outlook Express on X/P to handle my e-mails and have more or less successfully exported everything to Windows Live Mail 2012.

There are two things that I can’t seem to fix and would appreciate any help forthcoming.

1) The To and From names display and print in e-mails showing last name followed by first name but DO NOT delimit them with a comma. The contact names list also displays last name followed by first name with no delimiter. What needs to be done/changed to rectify this?

2) When printing e-mails the e-mail address is also printed between the delimiters < > after the To and From names. What do I need to do and how do I do it to suppress the printing of the e-mail addresses?

Thanks for any help forthcoming.
