How can I attach pictures to an email (using Windows Live Mail) without using SkyDrive? I like this feature, but a lot of people I send pictures to prefer them as an attachment. Can I do this? Everytime I try it just automatically sends my pictures as an album in skydrive. Also, when I send them via SkyDrive and my friends want to download the pictures, they cannot seem to change where the pictures are downloaded to on their computer.

Thanks

nothing on msn or hotmail including help or msn front page is ledgeable. cannot read a thing

I use Windows Live Mail 2011 on W7 Home Premium.  I have 4 POP3 and 2 IMAP accounts.

I am getting a a popup window indicating errors have occured, but no errors listed. The bottom status shows 5 of 6 Tasks were completed. When I click the tab to show "Tasks", 5 of the 6 accounts have status of complete and one account has no status. The account with no status is a POP3 account.  This occurs when Live Mail is doing a background "Timed" Send and Receive.

What I have tried. If I click the Send and Receive Button, all accounts complete without error.  If I use the Send and Receive pulldown and select the single account having the problem, it completes the Send and Receive without error.  I have done this hundreds of times without a failure. It only happens with the timed automatic Send and Receive.

If checked and double checked all account settings. All POP3 accounts have identical settings and all access the same POP3 server.  Both IMAP accounts have identical settings and are both GMAIL accounts.

I exported all email messages and deleted the account getting the error.  Rebooted the computer, loaded email, and let it run through several automated Send and Receives.  No error happened.

I recreated the account and the error returned.

Next, I tried rearranging the order of accounts in the left window.  No effect.

After rearranging account order, I once again deleted the account, rebooted etc.

Recreated the account and changed account order at the same time.  The account started working correctly, but Oh boy....

One of the IMAP accounts now now has the same problem!

This installation has been running without failure for about a year. The only clue I can think of is an experiment with "Picture" settings recently. Being annoyed by Live Mail's handling of pictures received in email when I forward.  I turned on the option for Coverting Photos to Photo emails. Used that for awhile to test and turned that option off.

Any experiences or suggestions?

Thanks!

How do I resolve this situation ?

I currently use Windows Mail and have several accounts on it.  If I download and install Windows Live Mail (I think I need it to be able to also add a hotmail account, which is not possible with Windows Mail) then will all my emails and folders, etc. automatically be transferred into Windows Live Mail or do I need to transfer them manually?  Is there any danger of losing information when doing so?  Cheers, Torsten.
has been working fine until today - always says " windows live mail has stopped working" - I have uninstalled and reinstalled essentials but still doing it - tried taking off AntiVir, and still did it - have ran win repairs and still doing it - i am on Acer comp, using Windows 7.
Is working fine on my other laptop - this one used to go well until today. Have tried all solutions as suggested on internet and still no joy. Any help to resolve would be much appreciated.
I upgraded Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail.  My problem now is that I have a lot of different email accounts, and WLM will only scan for new emails for the first 36 email accounts listed.  Does anyone know how I can get around this limitation?  I have WLM on a XP Home SP3 machine, and a Win 7 laptop.  Thanks for any suggestions!
An email has been trying to download for two days now.  In addition to this "stuck" email, I keep receiving emails I have already looked at and deleated each time I open my windows live mail.  Even when I push "stop" to stop downloading the email,  the program keeps trying to finish downloading the "stuck" email.  I let this go on for an hour with the email still not downloaded.  I'm afraid my computer will overheat!  Please help me get this email out of "cyberspace limbo"  I am not using Windows Hotmail Live - this is happening on my Windows Live Mail account.

I can receive, but not send.  It has worked in the past, but I can't pinpoint any incident that may have caused a problem.  I contacted my ISP (Cox Communications) and we checked my settings.  Everything is correctly set up with regard to my SMTP address, etc.  They told me it was a Windows Live problem.  When I attempt to send, the message sits in my outbox for several minutes and then I receive the following error message:

A time-out occurred while communicating with the server.

Subject 'test mail'

Server 'smtp.cox.net'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC19
