So, I've just logged into my 'Hotmail' account to discover that it's now an Outlook account. Fine, but I was completely thrown to discover not a single email in any of my folders.

Except, of course, the inane welcome email.

I read on another thread that you delete emails that are 'too old' or something. Os this true? Is this a joke? If it is true, what kind of dreadful policy is this? Have I really lost all my emails dating back thirteen years to 2000? Digital archiving practices aside, there was a wealth of information and memories in there, such as emails with friends that have since passed away. Emails that can't be replaced.

I may not have logged into my inbox all that often, but I use the Live account regularly for Xbox and I had no idea my emails were in jeopardy if I didn't log in directly to my inbox! You have a back-up email address for password retrieval – why didn't you email people on those addresses to warn them?!

It isn't looking good for my future interactions with Microsoft if they're really gone.

I am receiving this meesage when I try to open my mailbox. Am I the only one?

My gf managed to open her emails from the same computer and with the same provider.

My email account has recently been hacked and has been sending out spam messages to all my contacts. I have since changed my password several times on several devices, scanned for viruses, deleted all my contacts and am now forwarding all emails to a different address HOWEVER it would seem that spam emails are STILL being sent from my address as I am still receiving messages to say some of the spam emails are bouncing back... am I still hacked?

I've tried finding a way to contact Microsoft re. this issue but have had no success. I'm very reluctant to close this email account down as it is well used! I don't know what to do! HELP!
Hi, I haven't been able to sign into my .edu account. I keep getting the error message "Error: You're currently signed in with an Office 365 email account, which can't be used with Outlook.com." I saw other threads from people having the same problem and tried the troubleshoot suggestions there, but nothing is working. Can you help?

At the request of the moderator Andreo Paulo_D to me via a Private Message, I'm creating a new thread with my issue.

The previous thread, will all pertient details about my issue is located here:  http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/mail-calendar/unable-to-remove-the-email-address-under-calendar/390cf9cc-be94-4369-b97d-46e9965b2219.

Please let me know status of the fix.

Regards,

Steph

I'm trying to transfer all the music from my desktop PC running on XP to add to my laptop running on Windows 7.  I copied the music to a WD external drive hoping to download the data to my laptop without trouble. I thought all I had to do was drag the new music to the laptop's SkyDrive to get more music onto my Nokia Lumia 920, running on WP 8. However, I got many, many problems. For instance, the albums didn't download as a whole document, instead I've songs and artists all over the place together with art and a desktop icon in multiple different files.

So my question is simple: IF I erase all the music I have today in my laptop's My Music folder, would I be able to start from scratch using the data today on SkyDrive that's there from before? (Do I need to tell anyone I'm not tech-savvy or does my awkward presentation betray me?)

When i sign in,its all in bold blue, and all files are pdf,but it wont let me open them.
HI, Although I have chosen specific folders for sync-ing, I see the new folders show in SD, but I have created a new folder inside a folder to re-arrange the files in it in my PC and this change is not reflected in SD. WHy is that? SHouldn't the changed be transferred to SD right away? When I right click in the SD icon it shows that it is up to date. Is there a way to manually sync, or it should happen as soon as there is a change in the chosen folders?
