Oh....My.....Life....

I updated my Windows 10...I've been doing some little video projects for work in Movie Maker.  All great....Until I switched on my laptop and.... WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER HAS DISAPPEARED!

It was a 20 minute video project, I had just finished it but thought I would export it to MP4 in the morning.  Well now I have no movie maker, but a movie maker project that I can't open with anything.

I've searched the posts and found a couple of offline installers but they all come to the same dismal 'unable to load windows essentials 2012' end.

is there ANY WAY I can load this project in anything to get it converted into an MP4 format or am I doomed to start the 8 hours of cutting and editing all over again?  I'd be so grateful for some help on this as I don't want to have to go through it all again.

Also is there an alternative out there? I've tried VSDC and VideoPad but they are simply nowhere near the speed that Movie Maker was in processing and editing videos.  I just used VideoPad this afternoon and it took me the best part of 4 hours to load all the videos in the bin, edit it and export it.  That was for a 1 minute video by the way, I'm not exactly savvy when it comes to video editors for laptops (hence why I was using Movie Maker!)

I'd be so grateful for any solutions.
