I am on Windows 8.1 In Windows Live Mail 2012 I cannot open any of the messages I see in the Pre-view pane except for a Test Message I have drafted after the problem started. And I cannot reply or forward.
I have tried all suggested solutions I could find on the WEB, including Defragmentation of the Message.Store and Off line removal of Windows Live Essentials ( using : "c:\program files\windows live\installer\wlarp.exe" /cleanup:all /q ) and reinstall .
But when I then recreate my Hotmail account and WLM downloads all the messages from the Server – I am faced with the same problem for all messages when I try to open a message:

A Problem has occurred. Please try again
Note that Export of messages still works well – and I did that before the off-line removal of windows Live. And after the removal I have renamed the .appdata\microsoft\Windows Live Mail message store folder to Windows Live Mail OLD and rebooted before I reinstalled WLM which re-created the WLM message store folder I had renamed.
I have tried the above many times and also tried importing the exported messages – all work well but I still cannot open the messages. ( in subsequent attempts I did not rename the newly created message store folder – in each attempt I have deleted the message store folder since I already have the original renamed folder as back-up).
It should be mentioned though that while I can the messages from the Export I created, Hotmail still downloads a new copy so I have duplicate messages. ( The same apply for my other POP3 accounts).
Any suggestions welcome.
