Split from this thread.

I have similar question.  I get emails coming in but can not send any out.  My setting I believe are correct .  Here is what what I have my settings for:  

Incoming POP3 Servicer:  pop3.live.com

Outgoing: smtp.live.com

Server port numbers in Advance:  Outgoing mail (STMP) 25

Incoming : 995.

This is what I get:  

An unknown error has occurred.

Subject 'zzz'
Server Error: 421
Server Response: 421 Cannot connect to SMTP server 40.101.128.194 (40.101.128.194:25), connect error 10060
Server: 'smtp.live.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC67
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): Yes

Also I am always working offline.  When I click to change it it will not let me.  This is soo fruasting as I have been working on this issue since Tuesday.  

Please help as I have customers to send invoices too.
