The audio in some of my videos are sputtering and spitting even though the sound is correct when I listen to them directly on the computer (not in MM.)  I have a combination of clips from an android and iPhone that I am editing together.  The android videos (which are usually the most reliable) in an MP4 format are sputtering.  The MOV format from the iPhone are fine.

I am using Windows 7 Professional and installed Movie Maker a few weeks ago.  I can't tell which version I have, but assume it's the latest since I just downloaded it.

I've tried the FixIt link from some other suggestions in posts about the same problem, but it says there's nothing to fix.  I don't understand what codec is, and had enough problems trying to get the iPhone videos onto my PC.

Is there something simple I can do to smooth out the sound?
