I cannot get my gmail account to open anymore with WLM 2011. Using Windows 7 Home Premium. It was working fine until recently. I have multiple accounts and they all work fine. I have tried turning off the firewall and anti-virus software, but still nothing. Have checked the settings multiple times and confirmed them with Google. I entered the same account information on a different computer on my network with Windows 7 Professional and it works.  Do you know what might be causing this?

Just upgraded computers and also upgraded from XP to W7.  Used Easy Transfer to move
over data.  Installed WL Mail (came up 2011 version).  It seemed to work okay for a
couple of days.  Receiving seems to be okay at all times.  However, when sending:
Can send one message.  Open WLM to send another.  Then close.  When I open WLM
the WLM icon disappears and I get an error box  saying "Not connected"  Further listing
indicate that the first message was sent, but that the program is still trying to send the
second.   Obviously because of the "Not connected".  There is no way to get back to the
WLM program from the error box.  I reboot.  The WLM icon appears and the program
opens and the sent box indicates the two messages have indeed been sent.
WTH!
I uninstalled WLM and DL'ed again.  After installation I find I now have WL 2012!
Unfortunately, the same problem re-appears.    Does anyone have any insight?

As of yesterday my installation of Windows Live Mail 2012 no longer seems able to synchronise any of my email accounts. I have 3: a POP3 account, an IMAP4 account and a Hotmail account.

Normally if I select Update all I would see a status message at the bottom left, and be able to bring up a dialog box from that to review progress.

However I get nothing. No update status message (and thus no dialog), and no mails get sent or received in any of the accounts. The same thing happens if I select to Send/Receive for each account individually.

In addition, WLM is configured to synchronise a first startup - and in keeping with the above fails to do so.

There are no error messages in any of these scenarios.

I have carried out a clean uninstall of WLM., deleted contents of the store location, reinstalled WLM and recreated the accounts. Upon recreation WLM seems to manage to connect to the accounts and do an initial synchronisation, but subsequent to that no further synchronisations occur (either automatically according to the synchronisation schedule I have set, nor manually - as previously described)

I switched on logging, and noticed the following errors appear in the logfile at WLM startup:

[13:51:58.84] 320c                 Mail:            Zone_MailChk ERROR: (msgtable.cpp:2829), failed with 0x80070057
[13:51:58.84] 320c                 Mail:            Zone_MailChk ERROR: (msgtable.cpp:2829), failed with 0x80070057
[13:51:58.84] 320c                 Mail:            Zone_MailChk ERROR: (msgtable.cpp:2829), failed with 0x80070057
[13:51:58.84] 320c                 Mail:            Zone_MailChk ERROR: (msgtable.cpp:2829), failed with 0x80070057
[13:51:58.84] 320c                 Mail:            Zone_MailChk ERROR: (msgtable.cpp:2829), failed with 0x80070057

No other errors appear in this initial log file.

Essentially my mail system is now dead, unless you can suggest what may be causing this problem and provide a resolution

I find I have to run WLM 2012 in Administrator mode for all users and Compatibility set for Windows 8. If I take the tick out of Administrator as soon as I try to attach a file the program stops responding.

I am the administrator of the PC, there are no other users.

Also I have WLM in startup, but it doesn't start on boot up. If I click on WLM in the startup folder it starts ok.

Anyone experience of these issues please?

In the past several days, my WLM app has gone haywire. The problems first arose when I powered up my desktop at the beginning of the day. I noticed that all of my storage folders were missing. After uninstalling/resinstalling WLM, I imported the storage folders. Today, I note that I do not have an Inbox on the left side of the WLM homepage and all of the messages in the storage folders read "Message Cannot Be Found". Can anyone help me sort this out?
Hi Guys,

1) Cannot send or receive emails in WLM page - I can sign Out and In again successfully - no change.

2)  My Web-client Hotmail account works fine but the activity does not appear in my WLM page.

3) I have run the Windows Live essentials  repair - no change.

4) I have uninstalled WLM and re-installed it - no change.

5) I'm getting these two error messages  ............................

" Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail.co (whipstock) account.

Subject 'Test WLM'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80048849 "

" Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail.co (whipstock) account.

Server Error: 0x80048849
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80048849 "

Appreciate your thoughts - cheers.

Can anyone help me retrieve my “suddenly-for-no-friggin’-reason” vanished storage folders in WLM? There is a way to do it, but it is not intuitive. MS apparently does not want to make it easy. I know how to use the “import” function, but I can only import the empty file folders. The emails contained therein remain somewhere on my C drive. I had this problem a few months ago and the MS tech fixed it for me in just a few minutes. I called MS support yesterday and they told me that they no longer offer telephone support for WLM despite the fact that I purchased a year’s support plan at that time. The email file names are a mix of letters and numbers so unless you know where and what to look for, it’s impossible to find them. I uninstalled/reinstalled WLM and reestablished the sync with my primary email service so I just need to recover my storage files and saved emails. Any help out there?
