I have a video/picture project that I completed using windows movie maker. I tried burning the movie to dvd using windows dvd maker. Most of the pictures and videos burned fine. However, the videos for which we used the trim tool to trim both the beginning and the end of the video are pixelated when viewed on the dvd. The videos for which we trimmed only the end do not have this issue. We tried burning to dvd using windows dvd maker and windows media player, and the result is the same issue.  The videos having this issue can be viewed using movie maker fine without being pixelated. The issue occurs after the trimmed videos are burned to dvd.

Any suggestions on how to prevent the trimmed videos from being pixelated when burning to dvd from Movie maker? Should I use another program, other than dvd maker, that works with movie maker to burn to dvd to avoid this issue?

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

Hello,

I am having issues while watching videos with IE11 or when editing video files with Windows Movie maker.

In the case of IE11, I used to have a problem where the video turned green and the audio continue to play as normal.

Older thread:

This problem is happening again, and I need to restart my PC to solve this issue. After a while the problem reappears.

As for Windows Movie Maker, the video preview window turns green but the audio plays as normal. When I save the project and play the created file with windows media player or VLC, the video is shown without any problems.

Restarting my PC doesn't solve this issue.

Appreciate your advice.

This morning I was using Windows Movie Maker perfectly. I've actually been using Windows Movie Maker for years with absolutely no problems. I had everything installed with the previous version, working perfectly [Photo Gallery, Movie Maker and Writer] and then I downloaded the latest version 16.4.3522.0110, tried to apply updates and the software package went to ****.

When I initially tried to update the update process crashed, throwing an error on updating Windows Movie Maker. I thought because Windows Movie Maker was already installed, perhaps I need to uninstall it. I uninstalled Windows Movie Maker and tried to reinstall; this was after a reboot. When I tried to reinstall; I got this error.

Thinking that the problem could be that I have to uninstall other Windows essential applications and then reinstall the whole package [Photo Gallery, Movie Maker and Writer]; I uninstalled those options as well.

But now, I can't install any Windows essentials applications. My PC Windows 7 Pro is about four weeks old— all system patches, updates and drivers are current. using direct X 11, .net is installed. While my PC is new, I was using Windows essentials applications just this morning, moviemaker and live writer.

I am installing Windows essentials from the standalone installer [ 135 MB]— I have also tried the web installer; no luck, does the same thing only slower. I'm not able to install any Windows essentials applications; everything crashes. I would really like to know how to get Windows essentials to install on my PC. I don't understand how it's a Microsoft operating system, it's Microsoft software, Microsoft installer, it's a Microsoft update and it doesn't work. Please advise.

Later, Larry

Audio on my laptop worked perfect until I started using Movie Maker. When I used Movie Maker and tried to rewatch my video all I could really hear was static. So I signed out of it and got on facebook. When I tried to watch a video on facebook all I could hear was static! Every time I try to listen to something, weather it's on Movie Maker or not, all I hear is static! I never had this problem or any problem for that matter until I opened Movie Maker!

When I boot my computer and I use Spotify or any other program with my computer. My audio is completely normal, whether I use the speakers in my laptop, or whether I use the headphones I have. As soon as I start using Windows Movie Maker, and I insert a piece of audio, my speakers or my headphones, whichever one is plugged in, begins to make a fast click noise. When I close it and go back to say Spotify, the clicking noise is still there. If I restart it and use Spotify or YouTube, it's find, but once I play something in Windows Movie Maker, the click noise starts, and then no matter what I use, it persists and keeps on going.

Thanks in advance,

Tahseen Chowdhury

Why does my Windows Movie Maker disable the sound on my computer?

Note:

I've asked this question twice. I have not gotten a satisfactory answer. I cannot upload my log files. I persistently get a time out.

I've repaired my Windows Essentials.

If I do not get an answer to this question I will put it in a regular mail question to the CEO of Microsoft.

I have raw footage from my cctv cameras and want to be able to edit them on Windows Movie Maker. WMM won't play files of that type.

Created video in MM using Windows 8 last year.  Worked great.  Now it tells me the file is corrupt and cannot be opened.  Your support page tells me to put the file on skydrive, set to public, then email you the link.  Only problem is the step that says to send the link to Microsoft has no way to send you the link, so I'm hoping this will work.  If not, please provide an accurate link for Step 4 in your resolution instructions to send the link.

Hello, I use windows movie maker quiet a bit, but the other day i went to go use it from my desktop ( I cant recall word for word what it had said) but it was along the lines of programs has been changed or moved. So as i double clicked it has just asked to get rid of shortcut, well me knowing I can easily just find and remake a shortcut I had accept it to be deleted. Well a few moments later I went to go find the program itself and cannot find it. I dont have a file for it anywhere on my pc, i searched manually for it and ive also typed it in search bar. I tried to re-install the entire program but it says I have all essentials. I am completely lost and have know idea what to do to fix this problem. I upload videos on a regular basis but have yet to even try since ive discovered this problem. Please help me, thank you.
