I decided to upgrade to Windows Movie Maker 2012 (from 2011) on my 2.0GHZ laptop. However I did not check my system requirements before I installed the 2012 version (it requires min. 2.4GHZ...yes, I was stupid) and now I cannot reinstall the previous 2011 version that was working for me. I've tried several uninstalls and reinstalls of the "2011" version but it keeps reinstalling the 2012 version that won't work. I cannot find any other help with this. All the other MM2012 issues concern graphics drivers. Please help! I was in the middle of an important project and which I now have to abandon. Does this mean I will not be able to ever use Movie Maker again on this computer???

I looked through the forum for help to see what I needed to do.

I was so close to finishing up a video for birthday coming up...I saved the project and when I came back to it I can't get past the "Windows Essentials 2012" screen.  The file won't open nor with Windows Movie Maker.

I am now facing a time crunch and can't even restart the project since the program won't open.

I've tired to "fix" windows essentials 2012 from the Uninstall programs/control panel and it has not worked.

Im trying to put some music to a clip Im making.

The music is my own. When I go to add the music it says that the file type is not supported by the windows movie maker.

I have tried to save it using mp3 and WAV file but it makes no difference. I even tried opening he music with Microsoft media but have had no luck does anyone know anything else I can try. Its weird because the music cd lay no problem on cd players even dvd players and the cd player in the computer, it can be and is saved in iTunes as well but nothing seems to be able to let me attach it to my music clip   (stumped) cheers everyone,

Brendt : (

Original title: Movie Maker c9450021

I'm using a Windows 7 machine trying to create a  video in Windows Live Movie Maker 2011. I have working gifs that are saved to my computer, but when I import them they are just still images. Any idea how to make them move? All of the help I've found online is for the old version where you have the timeline at the bottom.

Thanks!
I'm trying to make a movie with photos set to music using Windows Movie Maker on XP. Everything seems fine until I save and try to play the movie back. It doesn't play back properly but seems to get stuck in areas where there is a change of soundtrack, the images don't appear as they should, some don't appear at all while others flash on and off on the screen. This is very frustrating and I have no idea how to fix the problem. Please help!!!!!
