I've seen plenty of Internet tips for previous editions of MS Windows Movie Maker green screen.
However, does anyone know how to do the green screen image swap for W7 2013 Office version of Movie Maker?
I looked up the About for MM on my system and it indicates: Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3508.0205).

Trying to be able to put separate JPEGs and other video backgrounds into the green area on videos.
Thanks for any help.

Until 2 weeks ago I could edit and create movies using .mpg & .mp4 files in Movie Maker. Now I get an error message telling me that the file is corrupt or a format not recognized by Movie Maker. 2 weeks ago it was a recognized format. To be sure the files were not corrupt I tried to edit previously working files with the same result.
I'm using Windows Movie Maker Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3508.0205) on Window 7 Ultimate (SP1).

With the exception of updating my PC's Video Card driver I have done not to my computer.

What could have occurred and how can I fix it?

By the way, the .mpg & .mp4 files play fine in WMM. The problem starts when I try to edit them, (split, start point, etc.).

Is there a way to get the sound from an MP4 file to work in Windows Movie Maker? I tried doing some research and found that some people suggested just converting to a WMV file format, but both the converters I downloaded degraded the quality of the video. So 1. Is there a way to use MP4 in Movie Maker and keep both sound and video quality? or 2. Is there a good converter I can use that won't degrade the quality of my video when converting to WMV? I have a Windows 8.1 machine.

Hi, I've shot a dance video on my phone, in portrait, long and thin. but when I upload it to windows movie maker it automatically changes it to fit the landscape square shape, so squashes my video into the square and makes the dancer look completely out of proportion, short, wide, horrible! I've been fiddling for hours to try and get it to be in windows movie maker kept as a portrait video but can't find a way. Help?
Thanks

Hi,

I have spent the past 3-4 hours editing a highlight/montage/action reel not quite sure the definite definition but i had quite a lot of content on that project and so i would save every 3 bits of editing as using movie maker with that much content it tends to glitch out and throw tantrums. As i split a video i noticed one of the glitches occurring and i haven't recently saved so i quickly saved before the software became unresponsive. I thinking "phew what a close call" i closed down Movie Maker and open up my project again..... to find nothing there...... the wmlp file has data on it about 99.8kb but when i select that file to open on Movie Maker nothing loads. Movie Maker says there is items there "1 of 143" what it usually says. I try hitting play and the timer is going but it's just black.

Please please is there anything i can do. I really need that movie and i don't have the time to edit the movie again. It's not my computer specs as my hardware is gaming grade. Thanks so much for reading and i look forward to your replies.

Hi! I have a windows eight computer with windows movie maker 2012 on it and I'm trying to add GIFs to my movie but they just play out as photos? Any way to fix this that doesn't require changing every file individually? Or another free program that I can use to make my movie that will successfully play the gifs?
I recently just made a movie in Windows Movie Maker 2012 and after I had made my final edits and after I published to YouTube, I saw that the YouTube video screen was completely black, but the audio still played from my movie. The problem wasn't YouTube because i checked other videos and they played fine. So i went back to see what the problem was, and after viewing the movie in windows media player, it was the same problem. The video playing had no picture, but i could still hear the audio. I saw online that this may be a compatibility or codec problem? But i do not know specifically what the problem is or how to make it right. What should i do to fix it? And can i still can fix this without losing all of my work or having to do it all over again?
Thanks for listening!
