I am using windows live mail on a windows 7 dell laptop.  I set up my charter email account correctly and occasionally it works fine but most other times when I click it open it displays the page that I was on when I closed it. It fails to connect with Charter to retrieve my emails, instead I get the error message that says I have to sign in and then it reads that I have the worng username or password. Is there another system that would serve me better?

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on a HP Pavilion laptop.  I use Windows Live mail, Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308).  I have 3 email accounts on it - my email provider is Rogers in Canada.  Two email accounts work perfectly but one always come back with an error message

Unable to send or receive messages for the Rogers (debilevy) account. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Server: 'pop.broadband.rogers.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
Protocol: POP3
Port: 995
Secure(SSL): Yes

Sometimes in spite of this message, some emails do get sent from this account, but none are ever received.

I have checked with Rogers who say that there is no issue with the server and that all my settings are correct.  I have made sure my anti virus protections and firewalls should not interfere, and in any case, there is no difference between the settings for any of the three accounts.

I have tried removing the problematic account and re-adding it. On re-adding it, all the emails loaded but it worked for a few minutes and then it stopped working again.

This issue has persisted for a number of months now, I try not to use open Windows Mail but anytime I try to send an email directly from a website, the computer opens it.

This is super frustrating, I have scoured the web and cannot find a resolution - I did find another person had mentioned a similar issue but all the suggested fixes (check setting, turn off antivirus etc) did not help at all.

Can someone please assist me, I really need to get my Windows Live Mail to work for all my email accounts (especially in light of the fact that the affected account is my default account).

Thanks,
Debi

Just recently I have been getting spam mail and when I send it to the trash bin and delete it, it shows back up into the spam and is opened. The only way I can permanently delete it is to go into my gmail and delete it. This just happens on ceratin spam mail and not all of them.
Hi Guys,

1) Cannot send or receive emails in WLM page - I can sign Out and In again successfully - no change.

2)  My Web-client Hotmail account works fine but the activity does not appear in my WLM page.

3) I have run the Windows Live essentials  repair - no change.

4) I have uninstalled WLM and re-installed it - no change.

5) I'm getting these two error messages  ............................

" Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail.co (whipstock) account.

Subject 'Test WLM'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80048849 "

" Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail.co (whipstock) account.

Server Error: 0x80048849
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80048849 "

Appreciate your thoughts - cheers.

Can you give me the link to where I can download the WINDOWS LIVE MAIL APP to my laptop that has WIN8 on it?  I cannot find the app on the available MAIL apps showing.  And I keep seeing comments that Windows does not support LIVE MAIL any more because it is a POP3 - so my friend is telling me to download Mozilla Thunderbird mail...  Can you give me a link for the LIVE MAIL?  thanks, Juliette

There was a feature in the old MSOutlook Express that was a button next to the Font Point Size Box labeled Paragraph Style. When you clicked on it, a popup would list various options available; i.e., Norman, Formatted, Address, Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.  QUESTION: Was this feature carried over to MS Windows Live Mail?  If so, where is it located?  Specifically, I'm interested in the "Normal" feature.

I have Windows 7 and have been using Windows Live mail for sometime.  The main email account was with roadrunner.  Then Microsoft Live Mail began asking for a user name and password and the one I thought was correct would not go through.  I then set up a new account within Live Mail but contacts were not there. I then set up another account similar to the first one.  Did this over ride the original one?  I  highlighted the original acct, right clicked and chose (set up as default) but the contacts still are not there.   I checked C://programs files/live mail/contacts and they appear to be there (lots of files with .ll  extensions.

I read some posts that said the contacts SYNC when you set up a new account.  This did not happen.  HELP !!

I've had Windows Live Mail on my computer for a couple years and no problems. The other day I was cleaning up files on my computer and managed to lose my Windows Live Mail program.

I have since tried reinstalling it countless times without success. I have followed the suggestions of completely uninstalling Windows Live from my computer and have gone to my registry to remove lingering traces. I've done all Windows updates, reset Internet Explorer to original settings, turned off my AVG antivirus, etc. Still no success.

When I try to download, the download takes only about 2 seconds and says it is complete. But then when I click on the button to open Windows Live Mail, I get a message that it doesn't exist or didn't install correctly.

I am hugely frustrated as I have not been able to find another email client I like.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Kim
