I use Windows Live Mail and have linked it to my Windows Phone 7. In my contacts list, I have lots of records which consist of a person's LinkedIn/Facebook/Twitter/what-have-you account plus the notes and things I've added on my phone. They are all neatly linked on my phone so that each person only appears once.

WLM can't seem to figure this out. I have up to three or four records for some people, because I'm their contact on different websites. One contact will be them on LinkedIn, one will be just their name and phone number, ane will be them on Facebook... I can't merge or link these records so using my bloated address book is very annoying. Meanwhile, the contacts have stayed linked on my phone as well as my Live account. In fact, when I click 'clean up contacts' in WLM and get taken to my Live.com address book, there's nothing to clean up as it's all correct there.

How can I get WLM to link my contacts and get rid of duplicate entries?

When I click on an attachment in an e-mail a new screen displays "View Downloads  Internet Explorer " The panel gives a Name, Location, and Action.  Selecting the option "OPEN" nothing happens except the same panel is refreshed.   What needs to be done to enable reading PDF  e-mail attachments?

Unable to send or receive messages via Windows Live Mail and got the following message:

Server Error: 0x80072EFF
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80072EFF

Please help on the issue.  Many thanks.

When setting up a group in WLM, I have selected the name, which is highlighted and name appears at the bottom, but after you push save, and come back to that group, most of the names don't appear in the group.  Am I doing something wrong????

Recently when I tried to send an e-mail using Windows Live Mail with pdf. attachments I got either a delivery failure notice or the e-mail was received but with the attachments showing as DAT files which Windows Live Mail could not open. As a test I sent a mail with the same pdf. attachments but using my service provider (Fastmail) directly and the e-mails were received with the correct pdf. attachments which Windows Live Mail could open.

This seems a new problem. What can I do to over come it?

Eugene

As I'm in Windows Live Mail on Windows 7, the mail shows up, makes the notification sound, and then dissapears, I've already clicked on the show all feature, and there is nothing in my Junk E-mail, or deleted folder. What is going on? I run a business and e-mail is very important.
An automatic update rendered Internet Explorer and Windows Live Mail inoperable-- wouldn't load.  Strange-- Outlook and Google Chrome still worked.  But anyway, after 2 days on the phone with HP support, I finally had to do a system refresh which restores operating files but is supposed to leave personal data files intact.  After reinstalling the deleted applications, including Windows Live Essentials, I find that years of my archived e-mails and contacts are GONE....  I didn't panic at first because I thought Windows Live Mail messages were stored "in the cloud" and they'd return after I sync'd.  Didn't happen.  Still not panicking because I back up daily using Windows Backup... only to find out that the Windows Live files aren't included in the backup set.  OK... TIME TO PANIC!  Anyone have any ideas on how to restore my e-mails???  (They're not in the AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows Live Mail folder -- I checked that first.)
