Hello

Since a recent update to Windows Essentials I find that Windows Live Mail is failing to sync my emails and results in Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE20003. It continually attempts to sync my calendar and does not get as far as syncing emails. Having searched the support community I have tried a few things such as re-installing and also removing / adding my email details again but to no avail. Several threads suggest this is remedied by actions on the email account itself that would need to be done by those managing the Windows Live mail services. Is that correct and can you please fix my account also? Email in Outlook.com are unaffected. I'm running Windows 8.

Many Thanks

I have Windows Live Mail Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308) and for the last couple of weeks it has stopped displaying images in html emails.  I just get a black box with a black square and a white cross within it, next to a hyperlink to the content online.

This happens with safe senders and I have unchecked both security options relating to displaying images but it made no difference.

I have read MANY posts regarding this or similar problems with Live Mail, but NONE of the administrators has posted a satisfacxtory solution. I sure hope that changes this time, as I DESPERATELY need to get my mail working again. Here are the specifics for my case:

I have used Live Mail for the past two years or more, since it came with Windows 7 (64) on my Dell i7 laptop. Prior to that I ran the full version of Outlook. Until about 9 days ago I had never had a problem with Live Mail, and NOTHING has changed, settiings-wise. I also turned off automatic updates about a month ago, since several updates refused to install (as also noted by many others), so I'm pretty sure that no updates have caused me the following problems.

About 9 days ago I tried to send a large e-mail to a large number of people, but it didn't go out. It seems to have become "stuck" in the system, along with an error message that comes up whenever I tried to send anything else. It also blocks ALL succeeding attempts to send ANY messages, so I have have been dead for 9 days. However, I was able to receive mail. Based on "support" from my email provider (AT&T), I changed all my passwords and then tried again. The end result was that I was then NOT able to even receive any mail.

Based on the MS forums, I uninstalled ALL of Live Essentials and then reinstalled it all. I then tried to open Live Mail and got the error message that wldcore.dll was missing. After following several of the recommended steps, including several uninstalls and reinstalls, I found myself in the same situation as many others: Live Mail appears in my Programs window, but it does not appear in the removal window, so it cannot be easily uninstalled.

I followed the suggestion to use MSFixIt, and noticed, as many others have, that there were several installations of the Essentials suite listed, including LiveMail, LiveMessenger, Live Writer, etc. FixIt actually worked to remove each of the applications, although it was a very long, painstaking process to use it, since it had to be closed and then restarted for each of the many apps.  and several of them appear in MSFixIt.

I have now uninstalled and reinstalled Essentials several times and also uninstalled and reinstalled just Mail several times, always having to use FixIt, since the new installs do not appear in the Remove Programs window. For each single installation they appear at least twice in FixIt, which is still a very slow way to do an uninstall...but at least it works!

Is my only possible solution to just start over by reinstalling Windows 7? If so, please let me know the best way to solve this problem. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide, but please first review some of the other posts and don't just repeat them. Thanks again.

Lynn

I have been using Windows Live Mail for several years and had numerous storage folders created within Windows Live Mail. The storage folders were labeled and any important emails I was able to transfer to the appropriate storage folder. All those storage folders recently vanished. Any ideas on what happened and  on how they can be retrieved or found?

Thanks

I have a regular email that is *** Email address is removed for privacy ***.  That seems to work ok in Windows live Mail.  I also have several other email addresses that I have added to the service.  My problem is that I have an email address that is *** Email address is removed for privacy ***  It is working on my laptop, but not on my desktop.  I cannot see what the password is on my laptop as it shows only stars.  Is there a way to get that password so that I can input it in my desktop version of Windows live mail?  I am using win 7 on the laptop and win 8 on the desktop.  Help

I have Windows Live Mail (WLM) Desktop 2012 on several machines. My Windows 7 laptop has had it installed since they informed us that Outlook Express was being phased out several years ago, but I have updated it on each release (Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3522.0110)). On this machine, when you click on Contacts, it opens in the same window as the Mail program.  On a Windows XP box, I have installed this on a few days ago, when you click on Contacts, it opens in a separate Window (Version 2009 (Build 14.0.8117.0416)). I do not know if the versions make a difference, but was this feature removed as I would like to be able to go back and forth between my Inbox and Contacts without losing what I am reading. I use Alt+Tab to switch between apps, which is far more efficient than mouse clicking and trying to locate what you were, because all the lists reset themselves as you move from one window to the next. I have looked through the registry settings on each machine, but cannot find anything that would indicate opening Contacts in a separate window. Any help in this matter would be appreciated.
