My mail client is Windows Live Mail on Windows 7.  I have recently created a new Outlook account that is linked to my old Hotmail account and have no problems receiving all my emails.  However, when I send an email, it always defaults to the Outlook address, despite me selecting my Hotmail alias.  The copy in the Sent folder shows a Hotmail address, but the recipient sees an Outlook address.  What do I need to do to get the recipient to see my Hotmail address?

Jenuwynn or anyone else:  I have the same problem as Mark_M, posted on October 24, 2012.  Mine started three days ago.  Up until that time everything was working perfectly.  I have Windows 7 on my computer and am using Windows Live Mail which goes through the Comcast isp server.  I can receive email on my computer but I cannot send or reply to emails.

Server: smtp.comcast.net

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCCOE

Protocol: SMTP

Port: 25;

Secure (SSL): No

Socket Error: 10013.  Note that everything is as in the above attached quote except the Socket Error number.  I have tried everything I can think of with no positive result.  I can only send or reply to emails by going to the Comcast Website and doing it there.

Can you help me?  JohnMorrowMI

I have been accessing hotmail via live mail client for over a year. All of a sudden no sync with hotmail.

Using a different Windows Login on the same computer, I am able to retrieve all the emails correctly.

This is the error message I am receiving from Windows Live Mail:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail  ( *** Email address is removed for privacy *** ) account.

Server Error: 3204

I made no changes prior to this error.

This error also persists on the other email addresses I collect on this login

I have followed Windows online help instructions which state pop3.live.com (port 995) is the correct code for configuring the incoming Windows Live Mail server.  The result of using this code is always a error.  Any more ideas ?
