I went to open an email saved in a folder today and the text was not from that email - it was from a different email in that folder.  In fact, all 21 emails in that folder access the same, single email. This happened in several folders.  This is the second time this has happened since using Windows Live Mail; once a year or so ago and again today.

I am using Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308).  I was not importing or exporting anything.  I am afraid to click on any other saved emails.  Is clicking on them corrupting them, or are they all now completely messed up?  There are financial, tax and organizational emails, not to mention confirmations of purchases as well as registration codes and other activation codes that I need in my folders.  I wouldn't have saved these emails if I didn't need them again!

Is this corruption reversible or are the emails in the corrupted folders lost forever?  What causes this and is there any way to prevent it?

Thank you for any help you can give!

Hi,

I have created a windows live mail id '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***' long before.
It is not used for long time. I have sent one mail to my gmail for future reference.
Now i cant sign in. i have tried widows can't access feature.
Still i could not get my id back. is it assigned to some one else ?
Because when i tried for resetting password, it is showing some phone number and when use send reset link to my gmail id, i didnt recieve any reset link to my gmail account.
Is it possible to recover my id ?

I am having the same problem.  I have gone through all of the steps you've outlined several times.  When I try to start Windows Live Mail I get a popup screen which says:

Windows Live Mail could not be started.  Closing

Windows Live Mail.  Your calendar contains corrupt

data that is forcing Windows Live Mail to close.

(0x8E5E0247)

I have renamed the folder where all of my emails are stored in addition to the steps you've outlined, and no matter what I've done I get the same end result.

Is there another folder I should be dealing with relating to this calendar issue?

The message appears in the inbox folder when Live mail is opened butI  get message saying 'message cannot be found'.  If I try and delete this message then Windows Live mail hangs and is greyed out. The message does not appear in the sub-folder ...Appdata /Microsoft/Windows Live Mail/.../inbox but is listed under inbox whenever I open Windows live mail. How can I get rid of it?
Couldn't find this elsewhere in the forum, at least not easily. I usually use Windows Live Mail on a home PC and don't really use Outlook.com unless I'm traveling but I do log in periodically. I'm a BellSouth person, so my webmail is now Yahoo. My regular PC POP mail (Windows Live) gets mail just fine, as does my Yahoo webmail, but without any settings being changed that I know of, Outlook.com hasn't received my new mail since 8/23/2013.  Logged in right now; page refresh doesn't do it. Can anyone shed light as to why, and how (or if) this can be fixed?

Whenever I click on a mail in windows live mail, in reading panel the head and the subjects place goes black until I move over mouse on that area.

Kindly help me out in this problem.

Windows Live Mail acted as if it exported then imported contents [without having received command to do so] and all of a sudden many folders are missing and within the folders, the contents are confused. In many cases, the contents of one message is repeated over and over again regardless of the subject/sender/date of messages.  This also skips folders, with the same message appearing in many folders.  Any ideas as to how to recover lost folders and to solves this problem?

Original title: Windows live Mail went crazy -
I tried sending a e-mail with photos attached. Photos populated to the body of the text. I received error message: "The message could not be sent because it could not be split into smaller parts." Instructed to delete the photo e-mail, but it doesn't show up in my "Sent Items" Folder and there is not an Outbox Folder. Now I cannot create a new message. How do I clear the error message to enable new messages to be created?

ERROR MESSAGES:

Delete the photo email, create a new one, and try to send it again.
