I had to do a windows 7 reinstallation and i downloaded windows essentials including windows live mail.  I back-up everything to Carbonite.com.  I do not think I used the windows backup and restore functions.  There are Contacts in my Windows Live Mail now but they are from yesteryear so apparently, the new Windows Live Mail grabbed the oldcontacts from somewhere.  I did a full system restore from carbonite so all of my 60,000 plus files were returned to my pc.  My question is, where can I go grab those file folders that I kept in windows Live Mail and where can I get the most recent Contact list.  What file path are the folders in and what file path is the contacts in?

What keystrokes do I engage while in Windows Live mail to restore these folders and contacts.  They lurk somewhere on my pc.

Thanks.

Trying to export from Windows Live Mail so that I can import to a new laptop.  When I select the export, I chose Live Mail and select all folders.  There are approximately 700 emails.  The export completes in under a second and there is a 1kb file.

The export does not seem to work.  Any ideas?

Is there a way to copy a file similar to .pst file however in this case would be Windows Live Mai from one pc to another?

Thank you for the assistance.

I use Windows live mail. I mostly use an email address provided by my ISP. Yesterday 1700 emails suddenly appeared in my inbox, mostly addressed to that email address. In turned out that all of these were duplicates and triplicates of emails previously received. In each case the original date and time was preserve. Fortunately because Windows live has an unread box I was able to delete all those en bloc.

My ISP deny it could have been anything to do with them. Are they right? Is there anywhere else those emails could have been sitting for days and weeks before suddenly appearing?
My incoming emails on Windows Live Mail say To June July.  I would like to change this but can't find where to do this.

[Original title: Help with Windows Live Mail]

The first time I clicked on an email address within an email (using Windows Live Mail) it asked me what program I want to use to open such links. I accidentally clicked windows mail instead of Live Mail. How do I now change it to always use Live Mail? I looked in Live Mail File Options, nothing there. Can't find this question asked anywhere else.
Unfortunately there is no category for Live Mail, for posting this! Having to post under Windows Mail. What am I missing? I can't believe this site wouldn't be up to date and have a Live Mail category...

I want to be able to sync my desktop, laptop and android smart phone to access ALL my yahoo and gmail from POP.Should I use WINDOWS MAIL or WINDOWS LIVE MAIL?  Regardless of what is recommended; what APP should I download to my phone that will sync with whatever program I use on desktop and laptop?

Hello,
For the past 24 hours I haven't been able access my Outlook.com mail (formerly known as Hotmail, Windows Live Mail).
Sign-in through the browser succeeds, since I can access my account settings, Calendar and SkyDrive, but mail on Outlook.com fails with "Sorry, there seems to be a problem with Outlook right now". The Outlook service status at https://status.live.com/ is displayed as "running normally".
I've been trying on two computers and a tablet, without any luck.
The browser redirects to https://dub111.mail.live.com/mail/LoginError.aspx?error=120&mkt=en-us&ru=https%3a%2f%2fdub111.mail.live.com%2fdefault.aspx and displays the said error message.
Tried again after clearing all browser history, cookies, offline data and cache, and after clearing the DNS cache as well (with IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS), still unsuccessful.
I've also tried with my smartphone (configured to connect to m.hotmail.com through SSL), both on Wifi and on 3G mobile data, and with Outlook 2003 (using the Outlook Connector). The Outlook Connector's error log reads as follows, might be helpful for you (I've hidden my email address therein, in order to avoid being targeted by spammers):
