In the sign in box in my Windows Live Mail Inbox is a name which I think I put on a form when setting up Skype. I would like to change this name but cannot find where it is stored so I can change or delete it.
First I would get TIme out errors Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F , about 1-2 times a day but sooner or later the mail would get downloaded. I changed the changed the POP /SMPT settings from POP.mail.yahoo.com to POP.sbcglobal.yahoo.com then WLM
started re dowloading 5k yahoo emails, then it stopped and gave me this error. What a mess, I have spent 3 hours on this already.
So far I have tried every suggestion i can find on the web and no luck. So I decide I will just start using Outlook.com. Well that too worked for a week or so downloading emaild from several accounts and not it will not download gmail, SBCglogal email.....
or others. The directions are sketchy and unhelpful. I am not even sure if I could get the same look and feel with outlook.com as WLM, such as each email account having folders under it like InBox, Sent....
I am not sure what to do,
SAD to say but I will have to go to Yahoo.com mail to find any email responses to this since I have the SBCglobal email is linked to my yahoo account, since I can't get WLM to work
Hoping some can help me please. having an issue with windows live mail and in need of some assisstence please. An unknown error has occurred. and it wont let me post the error but ill type what is says,

Honestly I'm about ready to give up on trying to use Outlook.com. I can't believe it can't do a simple thing like connect to a Yahoo Plus Email Account that Outlook Express 15 years ago could and Live Mail can. I've read through the other helps and it appears to be a common problem that's been going on for almost a year.
1.) The error I am getting is: We couldn't sign in to your POP3 server. Please make sure your username and password are correct.
2.) The email address (username) does have an underscore in it but I have also tried my other account that does not.
3.) The password only has letters and numbers in it and is between 8 and 12 characters.
4.) My yahoo account is a plus account
5.) As I said I can connect to the account just fine with Windows Live Mail and actually at first tried importing the account and messages from Windows Live Mail.
6.) I have tried both the plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com and pop.mail.yahoo.com for the pop server.
7.) For the username I have tried both the name and the *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
8.) Yes I'm sure the password is correct.
Basic Settings in Outlook.com
Name = my name
email = *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
POP3
Server address = plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
Port=995
Require a secure connection is checked
Leave messages on server is checked
Username= my_name
Password = 8 to 12 letters
SMTP
Send email using your provider's server (recipient will not see your Outlook address)
Server Address = smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port = 465
Requires a secure connection (SSL/TLS) is checked
Use the same username and password to send and receive email is checked
When I download the mail program it says I am already downloading something but I am not.
I have not been able to either send or receive emails on my Windows Live Mail account for the past three days. I have tried to report it but have had no response.

I often get a message after sending an email, and i'm not sure that it went out or not.
"Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

I don't think that it is due to long periods of inactivity, and I don't seem to have any other server or network problems. It pops up quite often.

I updated my windows 8.1 preview to the final release of windows 8.1 and it didn't seem to keep my windows live mail storage folders. Is there a way to recover them? I was still using it because I was getting errors that I using too many folders and
could not create any more, is this still a problem?
