I have 4 email addresses set up on my Windows Live Program.  3 for one business, 1 for another.  This last one, which I use most, suddenly cannot send email out, although I can receive email into it. 

 

I spent an hour on the phone with GoDaddy yesterday verifying that my server settings are set up appropriately.  All things seem to be set to go....ut no go.

 

Super Frustrated!  Getting behind on emails and slowing down my business!!!  :(

On September 13th, 2013 my system installed scheduled Windows7 Updates.  From that point on I can neither "send" nor "receive" email. 

The error message in it's entirety is:

The connection to the server has failed.

Port: 465

I CAN send and receive mail by way of webmail at verizon.net.

I contacted Verizon Tech Support.  I was told to change my Incoming Server from "incoming.verizon.net" to "pop.verizon.net".
I was told to change my Outgoing Server from "outgoing.verizon.net" to "smtp.verizon.net"

After changing the server IDs there was no difference.

Verizon switched the Outgoing Port a long time ago from 25 to 465.
My Incoming Port is 995.
The Outgoing Port is checked to "My server requires authentication" and "Uses the same settings as the Incoming Server".
Both Ports are checked to "This Server requires a secure connection (SSL)"

After 50 minutes on the phone with remote control of my system, I was told the problem was not on their end and was told to go to the web and see if I could find an answer there.

I have run Norton Utilities and cleaned and compacted my Registry.

I have uninstalled all Windows Essentials including Windows Live Mail.
I have downloaded and reinstalled Windows Live Mail.

I have followed all the instructions in the replies to various community messages.
 
I am still unable to Send or Receive email.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Every time I use the Message Rules for forwarding emails, I get the following error  Why???An unknown error has occurred.

I have contacted yahoo and they say it isn't there problem.  So why do I get this error?  Thanks for your help
When I try to log onto my account via Windows live mail i get an error message that reads:
Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (-) account.

I also tried to log onto that very same account via outlook on the MSN website i get a blank page, I've used several different browsers, and my other account works perfectly fine when i log in. What is the problem here?
I have not been able to download new email for nearly 2 days now.  I keep getting the following message when I click send/receive:  Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail.co (castanf) account.

Using Windows 7 with Windows Live Mail, I can synch with my Gmail account.  It will accept incoming mail and send mail. However, my Outlook.com account will not synch at all with WLM.  I tries continuously to synch calendar, but never progresses. I have tried deleting the account from WLM and reinstating it.  The error I get is

 

Unable to send or receive messages for the Outlook (xxxxxxxxxxx) account.

Server Error: 3204

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE20003

 

I can log into OWA and see all my messages queuing, ready to download.  I can send from OWA.

So, I deduce from the evidence that there is nothing wrong per se with my WLM installation nor with my Outlook.com account. It is a problem with synching between the two only.

 

I have done a registry scan to no avail.

I have scoured the community discussions and see that similar problems have occurred with different devices and operating systems, but can find no specific solution that helps me.

 

What else can I try?
