When I first open Windows Live Mail, no messages appear until send/receive times out and puts up the following message

Unable to send or receive messages for the Shaw (XXXXXX) account. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

When I close this message window, one email appears in the Inbox.


When I click send/receive all remaining emails are retrieved from the server very quickly.


Any ideas?


Have today been unable to recieve emails but can send them. Error message 0x 800CCC90 keeps coming up. 

"Unable to send or receive messages for the Bigpond (loriemerson) account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.

Server Response: -ERR invalid user name or password.

I have removed the email account and then added it again. I have also tried to get access with the email protection in Nortin Anti Virus turned off.

Neither action has succeeded in providing access. Can anyone suggest a solution?

I am getting the following error:

Why is this happening?
I have been using Window Live Email since May 2013 with no problems whatsoever, now this is happening!

I cannot get my email from my Outlook account.

I have tried removing the Outlook account and  the same thing happening.

Please fix.
This started a couple of days ago.  I get a Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E, Socket Error 10060.  Can anybody help me with this?  Thanks!
I use Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail.  Two e-mail addresses(@ Tiscali) are receiving and sending mail with no problem BUT I have just added another email to my account (@ Talktalk) and keep getting the error messages Server Error 0x800CCC90, Server response -ERR Authentification failed and Windows Live Mail Error ID 0x800CCC92.  Help please - I know that the password I put in is correct.

I have been getting this for days now, why? and how do I resolve this, I have tried repairing Windows Essentials but still no joy.

I can use my Hotmail account on the website, but when I go to my Windows Live Mail, I get this message:

I contacted Fairpoint, my internet provider, and they gave me some server settings to check, but I can't find where to do that.  We lost power overnight, and I wonder if that could have done something.

The following error comes up in Windows Live only for my Hotmail account.  I have 2 frontier.com accounts that work fine.  Please assist.
