Windows essentials will not install. I have windows 7 ultimate. Error 0x80040705 source dotNet40.
In the last few days I have been unable to send or receive messages from my Hotmail accounts. I receive the following warnings:
Server error 3204
Windows Live Mail error ID 0x8DE20003
I tried removing the accounts and then adding them back to no avail.
I also tried repairing the Windows Essentials using the add/remove feature; again, no solution.
I can still receive and send messages from my Comcast account, therefore it appears that the problem is related exclusively to the Hotmail server.
I checked the community blog but it appears that no one has found a solution.
Any suggestion, other than the ones I already tried, is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Original Title: Unable to send or receive messages in Windows Live Mail
Hello,
I've installed Windows Essentials on my laptop (HP Pavillon with a touch screen and Windows 8). I can find Windows Live Mail, and Windows Live Writer, but I can't find movie maker or photo gallery, and I believe there was one other thing that came in the recommended settings. I've shut down my laptop, then turned it on, uninstalled Windows Essentials, and then shut down and then after turning it on, reinstalled it. I can't seem to download Movie Maker otherwise because I'm being told that it is already installed. I can't find it in any of my folders, or on start. I've also searched up similar questions, but nothing seems to work. And after installing Windows Essentials, I get a message saying that it is installed and to click close to start using it, but then only windows live comes up, and nothing happens otherwise.
Can anyone offer any help, please? Thank you.
Can someone tell me where I can download Windows Essentials 2009. I do not like any of the later version, which do not allow forwarding embedded photos. Ihave downloaded and reinstalled Windows Essentials 2009 on my laptop which uses Windows 7 64 bit OS. But when I attempt to download Windows Essentials 2009, and install it on my desktop computer, I get a message telling me that the file contained a virus and was deleted by m Norton Security Suite Virus protection program. This happens even when I download from the Microsoft site. I need help from someone who can tell m where I can get a clean copy of Windows Essentials 2009. Can anyone who may be monitoring this give me some guidance?

I have just gone on to Windows 8 and Windows Essentials is included. I wrongly assumed that the mail app was 'Live Mail'. I've been unable to locate / open Live Mail and so some guidance will be appreciated please. I need a non web based email programme to link with another and the mail app does not work.
With thanks.
