Hello

After moving moving to another computer and enabling my SkyDrive on windows 8.1, I can see the sync okay but the synced file sizes are '0 bytes'. No data in the files. Images cannot be open, text files are blank once opened.

The files are there but just empty files, now i had very important data in my SkyDrive, i guess thats the concept to safekeep the files. I do hope that there is some way that my files can be repaired or retrieved back and Microsoft keeps a version of SkyDrive files (like dropbox)

Please help. Either it is some settings problem? or some thingelse, but one thing is for sure, files are just empty either i open the Synced folder or i open the SkyDrive on web, i even downloaded a fresh copy of a text file from SkyDrive online via browser but again it was empty.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Ali

I am experiencing this problem using Enhanced Protected Mode in IE11 on W7:

  1. Sign in to SkyDrive
  2. Locate a text file (*.txt) and select it.
The page loads, but the text file doesn't open. SkyDrive shows a 'wait' animation of flying dots at the top of the window.
  3. Add https://skydrive.live.com to Trusted sites
The page loads and the text file opens for editing.

When SkyDrive is loaded in the Internet zone, some functionality is blocked, presumably by EPM. When it is loaded in the Trusted zone, the functionality returns.

The Trusted sites option is not attractive. It would mean having to add other sites, like https://login.live.com, to Trusted sites simply to be able to sign in to SkyDrive. Then every other site using login.live.com for authentication would also have to be trusted.

Is there an Internet security setting I can change to allow text files on SkyDrive to be opened and edited in the browser?

While testing the new features, I was surprised to discover that non-English characters aren't displayed when a text file is opened. Furthermore, text wrapping isn't working properly:

Each box hides a number of characters, making it impossible to work out what should be there. Is this working as designed?

It makes no difference whether I select a different language at the foot of the SkyDrive page.
