now i am forced to upgrade to this stupid skype
and cannot unlink
lost my messenger wonderfull window
now I cannot get any popup notification when i receive email
are we downgrading or what i've been with hot mail since2000 it is not fair to force upgrade without coustions
Much like hotmail to outlook, you are upgrading all of MSN messenger to skype. Well, that's terrific, but THERE IS NO BROADBAND where I live. So if I don't voluntarily upgrade to skype, do I lose all of Messenger contacts suddenly? Why are you restricting
use something to only people living in areas that have Broadband? So if I don't sign into skype in the first year are all of my contacts gone? How does this work?
Like I said, I have no way to use SKype. I am on a 14.4 connection because the phone lines up the mountain are old, and no companies have seen fit to run new lines, so no cable TV, Satellite internet and TV is not an option because, Oh! Mountain's in the way!
There is no 3G or 4G or LTE here. There is normal cell phones (barely).
So seriously, what is someone like me supposed to do with this?
The important question is this: Since you are stripping our ability to use MSN, how long will my contacts be preserved since I have no way of using Skype?
Do I have to pay for Skype even if I don't use It? I know I'll never use it even if I have it because its to confusing to me.

Some say messenger is gone, yet i see it still listed on MSN. I'm blocked anyway. The messenger icon has a red circle around and through it. I tried Skype and a couple of other chats and didn't like them. Prefer one like MSN Mess.

I already have a Skype username and contacts which one do I sign in with to access Windows Live and have them show up with my Skype contacts? I swore I asked this once but I really don't recall. >_< I haven't switched yet but plan to sometime very soon
just wondered which one I'd have to log in with.
Any update on if the contact loss during the merge is over with? My mom merged and didn't lose any but she didn't have a Skype account already and she only had me and dad anyway so if she lost them it wasn't that bad either way.
Every time I start up the computer apps for Messenger and Skype appear in the taskbar. I quit the programs to close them but they re-open when I next start the computer. How can I remove them from the start up menu?
