Hi,
I have SkyDrive running on 2 machines: (1) a Windows 8 machine connected to a WSE2012 domain that is associated with my Microsoft account and (2) a laptop running Windows 8 with a Microsoft account login. Both machines sync with SkyDrive and are full syncs (no selective sync).
Since yesterday, both machines have SkyDrive reporting "processing changes" forever. The first time I saw this on the domain machine, SkyDrive started and then GPF'ed. When I restarted SkyDrive, the "processing changes" forever started. I tried rebooting. The domain machine at that point in time was fully up to date.
I then tried running my laptop (for separate reasons) and found the "processing changes" forever issue there. The laptop is a couple of days out of date (behind) the domain machine and needs to download a file or 2.
Both machines have all green files (up to date files), so there are no existing files flagged to update.
Hello. I am using the latest updates on Windows 8.1 Preview, and I have my SkyDrive set up so all my Visual Studio projects are in a folder in my SkyDrive. All of the following are true:
-The VS Projects folder where my visual studio projects are located is marked for offline use, including all subdirectories where my project is located.
-The initial download step is complete.
-I am using the preview version of VS 2013.
I am working my projects as I usually do; however, when I am editing a file, a box pops up randomly and says that the project has been modified outside the editor, and asks me if I want to reload it.
-I am not in fact editing the file outside the editor.
-This didn't happen with the old desktop sync client for SkyDrive for Windows 8.0 to Vista.
Therefore, this is a problem with SkyDrive, since for some reason, it is appearing to outside applications to be modifying the files when in fact the contents of the file doesn't change. This is a problem, because if I click "yes," I lose all work I have done since I last saved. I also don't know if it was legitimately modified by an outside program, or if it is just Skydrive messing with it. This is a bug and hinders the usability of not only Visual Studio, but other programs that detect when a file is modified, when used in conjunction with SkyDrive.
Is there any workarounds? Skydrive cannot be uninstalled in Windows 8.1, and the old Skydrive client doesn't install on Windows 8.1. Thank you!
Hi,
I have several word documents stored on SkyDrive. When I choose to "edit in Word", MS Word opens but it asks for "Connect to d.docs.live.net".
I tried to use my SkyDrive (Live.com) login but it doesn't accept it and the window pops up again.
What login should I use?
Hello. I am re-trying out Windows 8.1 Preview with the fixes, and on my Skydrive, after making my Visual Studio projects folder available offline, I did some editing, and Skydrive says that there are 16 files uploading. Only one problem: they are all "pending." What's it doing? What situations cause them to be pending? Even when I edit other files, it changes to "17 files being uploaded," and that file uploads fine, while the remaining files are still "pending."
Also, please don't tell me to uninstall Skydrive this time. Remember that Skydrive cannot be uninstalled in Windows 8.1. Thank you!
I had 3 computers and my windows smartphone syncing perfectly. One of the computers died. I installed SkyDrive on the new computer and can upload and download files, but it does not sync with SkyDrive. I deleted the defunct computer from the SkyDrive website, but cannot get the new one to show there. My 2 original computers and phone still sync just fine. My Outlook contacts and calendar did download automatically to the new computer, but if I make changes on that computer, they do not change anything on SkyDrive.
In my user account I have a special SkyDrive folder; when I drop something there, it goes to SkyDrive. But I want another folder to be synchronized, beside SkyDrive folder; for example, I want my "Music" folder to by synched, without throwing it into "SkyDrive" folder.
Can I do it? I tried, but it doesn't seem to work. If the answer is no, then will I be able to do such thing in upcoming Windows Blue (8.1)?
