My email address got hacked, i don't have a security code and the alternative email address doesn't work, i have done the questioner many of times and it doesn't appear to work. i need my email back its urgent!! i dont know what to do!!

Hi Leah_V, I don't understand why you locked my original thread, I was about to reply this morning to the advice given by LindaSView, but by then, you had also responded and locked me out!

Have I offended someone?  If so it wasn't intentional.

This morning I followed LindaSView's advice and checked the headers.

I do usually do this with suspect emails, but really have no idea what it is that I'm supposed to be looking for!

Linda's advice pointed me to the things I needed to check!

On the email advising me that my security info was due to be removed, I found the following :-

Line one (it's a long one!) contains amongst the gobbledygook was "(sender IP is 65.54.190.32)", and lines 4 and 5 show:- X-AUTH-Result: PASS
X-SID-Result: PASS.

The other 17 offering me a security code have a variety of senders IP's, which I've not yet checked out, but lines 4 and 5 in the ones I've looked at show the same info as mentioned above.

It would seem that the emails are in fact from MS.

This leads me to query just why these emails offering security codes were being sent to the subject email address when I had clearly specified a different address for such communication. To wit: the "Security info" which MS threatened was "Sheduled to be removed" and which I discovered was infact listed.

Having just looked at this page and satisfied myself that all the detail there was in fact correct (even if it was being ignored by MS!) I then found that there was no obvious way to "Save and Exit" from the page, or indeed just to confirm that no change was required....so I just closed the tab, not the best way to exit!

That done.....bearing in mind I had in fact done nothing, just had a quick "Look-see", behold, I received an email to my designated address thanking me for verifying my hotmail address and offering me yet another security code...not that I had requested one!

Can someone explain to me the logic of this please, as it totally escapes me!

Sorry to ramble on I'm just gratful that I seem to have found someone who knows the system!

I am trying to log into my email account and when I try it sends a security code to my second email address.  When I try
To log into that it sends a security code to my original email address.  I am unable to access either and I have a very
important email I need to read regarding a job interview I have today! ! I have had no problems with this hotmail account
for 10 years and now it has switched to outlook i find it very dofficult to use. Prompt response would be greatly appreciated.
I am new to outlook.com, which is my avenue to read from seven addresses, (two msn.com and six webtv.net.) I keep getting instruction pages that "drop into my email boxes" asking me to give a phone number and receive a security code, either texted to any friend's phone number or my home phone, or to any of my email addresses. I do not know how to access the registration page to submit an ID security code, and the required page has not appeared at all my 8 email address boxes, when I sign in. I don't know how to fill in the information required, which has a deadline of a couple days, as of Oct 8. I fear I will lose access to my boxes, because I don't know how to find the registration page for ID security four-digit codes. Our long-time home MSNTV computer equipment and system discontinued all service to customers, as of Sept 30, so we are struggling to provide all information to give our identity proper registration with outlook.com. I have only successfully registered my home phone number and have only provided two codes, to date - Oct 8....because I cannot access the page that takes that info... When I did have codes sent successfully to my home phone, codes were not accepted, when I typed them on forms, which appeared into several email boxes last week. I did not understand the time limit was about two hours to submit my assigned codes (called into my home answering machine.)... I now know how to submit the codes texted to a cell phone of a friend, tho I need instructions how to locate the page that processes ID code info....Sorry to repeat problem here.....and  any confusion.... Yikes.....~Thank you...
I had to make a new account to post this message because i couldn't access my existing and previous hotmail accounts.

When attempting to log into my existing hotmail account, I get a message saying someone else was trying to log in as me, and it needs me to verify it is actually me logging in, so to do this it wants to send a security code to an old email address. I don't remember the password to my old account so can't log in to get the security code, and it won't let me reset the password to the old account because its not a valid microsoft account (or something like that). I do not have the option to send the security code to any other email addresses or mobile numbers.

I have also tried clicking "I can't verify my account" to fill out the small question sheet, however apparently I could not provide enough information to prove myself to get the security code.

What can I do?
Trying to get remote access and says sending security code not texting nor call nor emailing tried two phone numbers and different emails and nothing. Nothing spam or any where. I have relied on this to get access to my data remotely but like many Microsoft products Office 2013 being one now unreliable and faulty. Sad but since you messed me up I can get my company to remove some licenses. Minor probably a few $1000 but if we all did this then they would hurt when things broke.
