Expanding/Collapsing Inbox Folders

I sometimes go many days where I cannot keep my inbox folders collapsed (hiding) sub-folders.  Even after manually closing them, the next refresh exposes all of them once again.  How to fix???

Why does hotmail open some mail and then says there seems to be a problem.then I have to refresh page to continue?

can i change the refresh interval from the std 30 mins, eg, for clicking confirmation links
