printer prints but won’t scan

C4380 HP all-in-one printer prints but won't scan. Message is "USB or Wireless not connected". But it is connected - the blue light is on and it prints fine. Is the printer broken? Should I try to reinstall it using the original disk? It worked two weeks ago.
