I know the answer but just need confirmation. Removing any of these photo programs makes them go away but the photo files stay..correct?

I have several photo programs and want to end up with just one. I know in my heart these are just pointer programs but I lack the nerve to discard them until someone says, "Yeah, your photos are safe! Go ahead and delete them!"
