i think i may have at some point messed with the photo gallery settings, i can use the webcam to skype but not take pictures, also when i try to use the library i can not access my old photos, and it now tells me "Photo gallery can not open this phot or video. this file format is not supported or you do not have the latest updates to photo gallery." please help! i love my computer and it has been like this for a while, its my only problem with it, and no one seems to know why its doing this, any ideas what i may have clicked at some point to make it do this? or how i can fix it? thanks in advance!
Hello
Every time I go to my photo gallery or download photo's into my photo gallery the ox pops up with error code 80070005 Whatever is on the screen magnifies beyond recognition. When this happens No matter what is on my screen email or what ever it all is magnified with that error code popping up. It never use to happen until I had a problem with my computer and let microsoft take control and fix a problem with my email. About 2 weeks later this problem occured. I basically have to restart the computer to get rid of the magnification. Sometimes a window will pop up with the error code and if I click on it the content on the screen goes back to normal. I am pretty much computer illiterate so if anyone out there is going to try and help me with an answer please break it down for me as simply as you can
Thanks

Have been trying for 2 days to upload photos from Photo Gallery to Facebook but keep getting message This service is currently unavailable we are fixing the temporary problem.

Can anyone tell me how to get my pictures posted to facebook from microsoft photo gallery? When I click on the facebook icon on the photo gallery site I immediately get directed to the microsoft sign in page.  Why??????????????????
How do I set the default size when sending images using create for email. It is a pain having to set the size every time.

Also any idea how to insert the image in a mail note but as an image rather that a JPG file

I have numerous .MOV files (recorded with iPad or iPhone).    These are typically stored on a NAS, and the folders are included in Photo Gallery.

Photo Gallery displays information about each file in a panel on the right hand side of the screen.   At the top there are People Tags, then Geotag, Caption and Descriptive Tags.    Further down, there is a heading "Information" under which is various data including "Date Taken".

In general, I assume the Date Taken field comes straight from the embedded date/time info in the file.     And I can examine the file with the MediaInfo tool to confirm this is correct.

Curiously, if I copy a .MOV file to another folder (also part of the Gallery), Photo Gallery (for the copied file) displays a different value for Date Taken  - it Displays the Date/Time that Windows Explorer shows as the Date modified.    The particular date/time displayed is not meaningful to me (it is some months after the actual Date Taken, and many weeks before today).    Note that windows shows the same "date modified" value for both the original and the copied file.

So, why does Photo Gallery display the wrong value for Data Taken for a file copied to another location?    Can this be corrected - ie force Photo Gallery to look inside the file to get the correct value?

In Photo Gallery, under Edit --> Effects,  the orange filter, yellow filter, and red filter do not work.  Each feature changes the photo black & white with varying grey highlights.

The black and white, sepia tone, and cyan tone work appropriately.

I'm using Windows Photo Gallery 2012, Build 16.4.3508.205 on Windows 8 64-bit OS.

How can I fix this?
